Wow, Sun is taking over the RV World. We were just in the Paso Robles, CA area and 3 of the resorts were Sun. No good for RVers but when you have no other choice…….

This was our first time out since I purchased so I do not know. I have a call into the guy I bought it from to see what he can tell me.

Oh, never mind………I was going to make a snide comment about the length of the electric cable, but no sense adding salt to the wounds being described here.

Thanks for the post I will check it out, she is coach 312 classic libertyand Jon I have read some of your post about being very careful when working on the Electrical systems on in these coaches and I agree that the more information one has the better, if not for the voltage they carry but the sensitive electronics.

    Thanks

Jon, Jeff, For those of us that don’t have your technical experience or knowledge can you give us a sense of what were looking for? I get all the nromal stuff like cracks and tears etc.. but I don’t think I could recognize thread wear etc. I take my coach to a tour operator generally before every big trip and they look it over… I will check with them if they have had any issues.

I think the topic of “how much does outside storage affect a coach?” is going to have a wide range of answers.

Factors that have a significant impact on our coaches range from the effects of the sun, to the impact of temperatures, to how the coach is maintained.

I think it can be safely said that if a coach is left out in the sun where high ambient temperatures are normal, the finish, tires, and some plastics are going to be adversely affected. Further, if there is no attempt made to mitigate interior damage it can be expected that fabrics can fade, the high interior temps can cause delamination of cabinets, and anything with high or low temperature limits can be impacted.

If nothing is done to limit or control humidity there is a potential for the growth of mold and mildew.

Just the simple acts or putting the coach beneath a canopy or keeping the interior air conditioned or heated is going to help tremendously.

Temperature extremes, hot or cold, are going to create a risk of damage and the greater the temp spread from normal liveable temps the greater the risk of damage without some way to cope with the extremes.

I think we can expect accelerated damage to parts that age such as tires, window moldings, roof sealant, air bags, etc due to sun and high temps. I think low temps below freezing can have risks as well with the greatest being broken pipes in the water system due to freezing.

This is important and it is stressed on purpose: A COACH WITH INFLATABLE SEALS IS AT GREAT RISK IF NOT KEPT IN A PROTECTIVE ENVIRONMENT BECAUSE THE SLIDE SEALS MUST BE INFLATED AT ALL TIMES AND TO DO THAT THERE IS A GREAT RISK OF INTRODUCING MOISTURE INTO THE PNEUMATIC SYSTEM OF THE COACH.

MOISTURE IN A COACH, WHETHER FROM LEAKAGE PAST SLIDE SEALS OR FROM A PNEUMATIC SYSTEM IS DANGEROUS AND EXPENSIVE.

Marina Bay RV Resort does not appear to have pickleball courts. Deal breaker! 🙂

What would you do about this Glens? If the handle is fully closed it expels air. If I turn it down a little the air stops. Maybe it’s obvious but I’ll ask anyway… Should I turn it until the air stops?

This was just installed so you must be right, it’s a bad valve.

Congrats Dan & Judy, you bought a good one. BA spared no expense in getting that bus up to snuff, but when you visit, don’t expect help with washing, he’ll set in a lawn chair and watch while criticizing the job. He does offer DI water, but it comes at a price, usually BBQ.

Would you be willing to share the insurance experience and how a non Prevost insurance company approached the value? We discuss this all the time and caution about a non agreed policy.
