Jon, When i first brought the Bus home, one of the first things I did was pull the oil pan to see what i might find. See the attached picture, This is an accessory drive gear made from Phenolic or Bakelite and is used on the 8V92. I reconstructed the pieces as shown. I wonder if this was from the 50DN drive mechanism, it broke the found it’s way down into the oil pan? Is this the drive gear for the 50DN?

does this allow front wheels to track?? or is it locking front wheels in centering action?? Wonder how it works with 46ft turning radius?? Just curious.

Very nice Mark, beautiful coach and Marathon did a fantastic job. Nothing like a late XL, the best of the best. We looked for you at Canopy Oaks, the tiki hut bartender needed your credit card.

We are done buying or trading buses. Was a member of the TBC (two bus club) twice and do not need to repeat the exercise.
No cigar smoke for me, or near me. And my preference is bourbon. Partial to Woodford Reserve, Knob Creek, and have grown to enjoy Larceny.

Good temporary fix. You won’t be able to use the level low to lower the coach if it was raised or needs to go lower, but ride height function will work.

Solved it.
Sorry for not updating this thread
I took apart the door.
For anyone who encounters the same problem:
I thoroughly lubricated the mechanism and was able to get it to work by aligning the square box that surrounds the lock.
If it sticks, I turn the key to full lock and then it unlocks.

Could you notice any drive ability issues. Did they tell you what was wrong with the injector?

We were at a rally at Liberty in 2004 and ZipDee had a team there working from daylight until dark on those awnings. The folks from ZipDee were working like borrowed mules.
I think those awnings turned out to be a disaster for ZipDee and problems for owners unlike anything else except for the delamination issue. The original ZipDee manual awning was excellent, took a couple of minutes to open or close and was generally very reliable. It was easy to service if there was an issue and if it had the sleek look of the current cantilevered awnings I now have I would put them on my coach. My current late model ZipDee awnings have worked fine, but I am just not comfortable using them so I rarely do.

I recommend the Little Giant as well. I think it’s 12 feet and 3′ folded up into the 4 sections. Very sturdy and dependable. I used it when working on the roof of RV’s was my business.
Still, it is very dangerous going up and down and walking on the roof so please use the utmost caution anytime you make this choice. I just moved a Trav’ler from the old coach to the new one and I really don’t miss those days of going up and down all day long!

All cleaned up high and dry

I’ve never looked into it. As long as I was getting the turbo boost I was used to seeing I assumed all was right.

Oil canning due to polishing? Maybe.
As metal heats, it expands. As it cools it contracts. Concentrate the heat in one spot and it is a safe bet the metal will warp or buckle.
Unless a polisher is completely unaware of how much heat he is building and lets the buffer or pad sit in one spot greatly heating up a small section I am not sure polishing can get the blame, or at least all of it. During a day in the southwest it is not unreasonable to have the skin on a coach near freezing in the morning, and by mid day if the sun has been shining on the skin all day up to that point to have the skin so hot it has been warped, bubbled, and oil canned between the rivets.
The XLII has no noise due to heating, but our 97 XL and the 87 XL prior to it made a racket as the skins heated and cooled.

Robin and I plan on being there. Hope to see more !

Harry…we need to talk about this before the Liberty police show up.
