The Webasto cycles on and off so it is coming up to temp, Talked to Sure Marine this morning and he said if burner is coming to temp there is not enough heat exchangers to heat coach, Gary said there is only 1 heat EX in living room 1 slide and 1 in bedroom and 1 in kitchen it is a 2 slide coach. He needs to add a couple more heat exchangers..

Pffff, I followed my ADF from Seattle to Tampa, at 500 agl, through snow and ice storms, high winds landing in fields to refuel from my cans behind the seat, no auto-pilot, no radio’s, no omni’s, no heat, only instrument was t & b and a snoopy compass.

I crashed somewhere near Podunk, AL when I woke up, fell off my stool and spilt my beer.

If Prevost is unable this might be your best and last chance other than a bus junkyard:

    Luke at US Coach 888-262-2434

Post the results because there are a lot of drum brake coaches on this forum. I think your drive axle drums are 14″ X 10″ wide.

I heard that if you go to their shop in North Carolina that they will install the magnets.

    Is that true?

I would be completely OK with buying a steel wheel for the inner drive wheel and using the one that’s there (I do know it’s alum) on the tag. Can I put one steel wheel on 1 set of drive tires and not the other or would I need to replace both inside wheels with steel?

prevost thought maybe electrical cause to the failure . Had it checked by prevost recommended place in Phoenix. Could not find a problem after checking everything they could think of. Decided the latest one 3wks old was in fact ok and what looked fresh was dried globed black stuff they attributed to the fried insulator material from the last one. Anyway waiting to get refund on parts warranty , and Prevost covered the labor evaluation.

July 19, 2018 at 10:56 am in reply to: WARNING! FAN CLUTCH REPLACEMENT PROBLEM
I have a very similar problem but for different reasons but with a slightly different outcome also resulting in the loss of the cooling fan belt.
The following is the list of parts replaced by Prevost along with the OEM parts.
Qty 1 – 052476 fan clutch supporting bracket (new replacement number)
Qty 1 – 550966 fan clutch assembly (new replacement number)
Qty 1 – 550836 or Y2-0540-02 (OEM Fan Clutch Assembly number)
Qty 1 – 052588 (OEM Fan Clutch supporting bracket)
    Qty 1 – 531469 Silicone Hose
Qty 1 – 531471 Charge Air Cooler Hose
    Qty 1 – 24190616 Hose clamp.

The fan clutch and supporting bracket on my coach were replace with the new part numbers due to the failure of the fan clutch. Subsequently the 052670 pivot pin/bolt bent down during normal driving causing the tensioner roller bearing to be slanted or out of the same plane as the two pullys (for no better way to describe) fan clutch and gear drive. Not being in the same horizontal plane resulted in the fan clutch belt to partially (1/2” – 3/4” of the belt) ride off to the side of the tensioner roller bearing scoring and cutting or shredding that much of the belt resulting partial and complete loss of the belt. Of course I had a spare belt on board so I trimmed the belt down to 1” wide and positioned the belt to one the side of the fan clutch and gear drive pullys such that it remained on the tensioner roller bearing enough to get me back on the road and back into Mira Loma Prevost Service Center. My concern is that if there is weight difference between the OEM parts and the replacement parts the OEM pivot/bolt will not support the higher weight. The pivot/bolt was replaced and fan belt is running correctly but this could happen again due to the weight difference if there is one.

I do not recall if I checked the actual pressure of the air bag that tightens the tensioner but believe it was the correct pressure. It the air bag was for some reason under inflated perhaps that allowed the entire assembly (fan clutch, gear box, and pivoting tensioner to bounce excessively going down the road (terrible Califoria roads) putting added strain on the pivot bolt.
I have reached out to Prevost to try and get the weights of the new parts replaced to determine if there is in fact a weight difference and will recheck the air bag pressure.
If it is a weight issue this would be big concern for Prevost Owners who experience fan clutch replacement.

So, wanting to be proactive, I decided to order the Diamond Seal bracket kit. Well, I went to install it today just to find out it’s already there! Guess I should have looked first. The kit with S&H was about $940. If anyone is interested, I will prepay it to you for $800. (Part #23529492)S60

    Thanks, Cliff
