Magna Shade
After all these years of climbing a freaking ladder to snap on the sun shades, I finally ordered a set of Magna Shades. The fit is excellent, well made and all I need now is some hot weather sunshine to take out a few wrinkles.
Getting the magnets across the top of the inside windshields on an H was a real PIA because of the molding, TV mechanical and various structures, but didn’t want to go with external magnets.
Jon won’t need these, he chases yard rats in the summer and builds cages around his garden.

Tom, they are great looking. I had Prompt Sunscreens on my last 3 coaches, but, alas, they appear to have gone out of business. So your timing is perfect as I’ve been shopping. I think Magneshades is the way to go. Maybe someone with a XLII can hop in with advice on installation.
Anyway, they look good and they are the only non-snap option left.

I heard that if you go to their shop in North Carolina that they will install the magnets.
Is that true?

They will install at their shop. We had the front, driver window and entry door done while there. They work really well and are fairly easy to place. However using in cold weather is a little trickier, but they still work.

Met a Newell owner that had four 1/2 inch PVC pipes wrapped in foam pipe insulation that are the height of the Magna Shade. He inserts two under the shade each side of center to create an air gap between the shade and windshield. Therefore the hot shade does not transfer the heat directly to the windshield.
Can hardly tell the pipes are there and windshield is much cooler.

Purchased the Magne Shades in August and installed myself; not too difficult but you need two people. The folks will do an install at their shop and are wonderful to work with.
The most trouble for me was the upper corner of the windshield due to space to get up in there to place the magnet.

i just installed them on our 07 Liberty. Getting the three upper magnets each side inside at the top was impossible without removing a great deal of things. I would have had to have them installed professionally at considerable expense and the if you break a windshield you get to do it again. The external magnets are all black and quite thin so not really obtrusive. Those rare earth magnets are pretty amazing. Nice product!

One would think that Magna Shade would be an advertiser on this site due to all of the free advertising we give and the number of members that buy from them. With 3,500 members and growing that is a lot of potential sales.

You would think so Fred, but there are some that just reap the benefits without contributing to the site, which in turn would produce more business opportunities for them.
