    My Bus – 95 chassis XL 40
1st pic, steel limiter w/bag is empty.

2nd pic, steel limiter w/bag full, 5 yr old AX74 belts w/20k+ miles. No evidence that the 2 steel surfaces of the travel limiter have ever made contact with each other. If I ever notice any contact, I’ll know it is time to change the belts.

last pic, distance from fan the radiator w/bag full, 1 5/8″.
    *NOTE* NO X brace ?

Question?? What buses have the X brace??
Mine doesn’t have a X brace, so I reckon I’ll never have the rubbing problem.

This coach is a Southwest Luxury Coach coach, Phoenix AZ who has it consigned back east. It is former PC members Don and Junes former coach. Originally Marathon 784, was Wye Kittles Coach out of Aspen, followed by owner Klink, followed owner D Monday, then current last owners. We also looked st this coach in 2004 to trade in our 2002 XLII Marathon single slide is why we know the history

aprox 27lbs. Where was leak located–under–last bay—-engine compartment? Do you have drivers air also? Seperate system= lot less $$$$ Should be marked on compressor–most prob 134.

    John,

You pick the fabric and Marathon makes it, they use a Somfy motor in the roller. Our 07 had them in the bedroom only, on our new one we put them thru the whole coach.

Makes a huge difference in heating and cooling the coach, now there using Lutron.

That little critter would have his work cut out to get this exhaust packed tight.

You know there is more going on here besides exhaust coming out ?

The problem is rarely the compressor. It can be leaks where they cannot be fixed or the control board. Some of those boards become obsolete in 5 years.

    Art,

This hapened on our last coach that had the same transmission. I recommend you take it to a certified Allison repair facility. We ended up having to replace the ECM.

Why would a new bag blow out?

Wax on the slide skin on the sides, top and bottom will not hurt anything.

But Al is absolutely correct in that anything that will attract or hold dirt or debris or damage the rubber is not a good idea.

I will check, John. Inner panels of the engine doors have been replaced so I will have to check the manual for a diagram.

Batteries are date 02/2017. I purchased new and installed. Never have had an issue with holding a charge.

I agree with Jon and Les. I’m sure cost of the engines to Prevost was a significant factor. Once Prevost started out with the early two cycles 6 and 8 V 71s and 92s and had a large operating base of coaches it would have been very difficult to switch to another engine vendor. The existing customer base had an investment in DD parts and expertise. I suspect the large customers would have revolted if Prevost would have gone to CAT or Cummins; I would have. The DDs were reliable.

The Series 60 was a HUGE success. It became a leader in over the road power plants. Large installed base, lots of service available coast to coast, the package was fitted to the coaches and a well known quantity. No reason to change.

Harry, what are you seeing in those other forums? Guys arguing whose MH engine is better?
