If you own a Prevost and with up keep, Fuel would be the least of your problems.

AIR FORCE ONE all the way here.

As John described, this is a very effective braking system that utilizes the braking system of your toad as the manufacturer designed. I’m not the biggest rules follower in the world, but I personally would not consider pulling a toad without a supplemental braking system….law or not! Yes, the addition of a 6500lb Ford F-150 is a marginal addition to the overall weight of a coach, but I’m more concerned about the towing capacity of my hitch parts for this issue.

Also provides breakaway braking in case of a catastrophic failure of the tow bar system. That alone is worth it to me…….

Are you towing a car? Can you recon the road to the shop you’re talking to?

I’m with Tom. I would be inclined to drive to the shop watching the tire temp and listening very carefully to the wheel. If temp goes up, I’d pull off into a previously seen spot and shoot the bearing with the IR temp gun to confirm the temperature.

I’m fortunate enough to be acquainted with a nearby 25 year Prevost mechanic who worked for a 7 to 10 seated coach tour operator that ran all over the country. I’d probably call him for his opinion about driving 14 miles.

Last week I worked with another Prevost owner who needed a tow because his air dryer had apparently failed and he couldn’t build air pressure. I had him contact John Hawkins from Miller Industries (big wreckers) who has a Prevost and John connected him with a wrecker company that knew how to properly tow a Prevost. From what I know the outcome was very positive.

Good luck and keep us posted as to the outcome.

    Bill:

I suspect the spring in the unit is getting weak. Try to manually rap the hose around the spool a couple of times while it is in as far in as it wants to go. This should give you more spring tension on the recoil the next time you retract it.

I searched all around the Central Texas area for years for chassis work on my XL and didn’t find a place that knew a time about it. Prevost Fort Worth and Houston worked on air problems several times and still had leak down issues. Take several days but would start to lean. Spent a small fortune chasing leaks down. Prevost Replaced it seemed, every Bag, valve , hose, and connection it had. Bought all my own air jacks and stands to work on it myself after they did there thing. Never ending with them. Krause Bus Repair and Alamo city Bus Repair in San Antonio might be able to help down south of Austin about 120 miles. Krause does a lot of Entertainer Coaches for the Singers down that way. Small shop south part of San Antone. On Body paint work , Xtreme Paint and Graphics Nacogdoches Tx. is the best around. Good luck and remember, “All it takes is a Pocket full of moola with these Coaches”.

Yes, problems. Including problems with Prevost / Winter Garden. Said that they fixed and “verified”. Apparently they verified that they did not fix it. When I got the coach back there were three cargo doors with switches not installed…..

Easy enough to install switches by myself. 1 screw and 2 spade connections.

My confusion: If you look at my original photo, those 2 spade connections are actually a U-shaped “saddle” of stamped metal. The 2 spades are electrically the same piece of metal. They are not isolated and connect-able via the spring loaded plunger. They are constant “make”. I understand simple electrical circuits. This “switch” looks to me as if it is no more than a “jumper”.

It should be noted that Greg has a Beaver which had a battery/inverter set up that was somewhat unique. Beaver conversions were very well done and had an inverter set up that I believe had one dedicated solely to the refrigerator with the other two for the rest of the house.

I believe Jim and Chris have far better knowledge and understanding of Beaver conversions.

Don, we have two different battery specs. While temps determine charging protocols my Relion batteries allow cold temp charging and with my battery enclosure and temperature regulated heater I am able to keep the batteries warm enough to be able to spank them with full charging power any time. The only thing I ever worry about or monitor is voltage just to monitor the charging process. The only reason I do that is my Outback inverters go into “silent” mode after bulk charge and I just want to verify the inverters periodically restore the float charge when required. More from curiosity than need.

Is that the one advertised as the Grand Cherokee L? It’s looks to be the size of a Suburban! Is it towable 4 down like the others?

Hey Ron, the product is call Chilewich Basketweave. You can go to chilewich.com and take a look. Marathon takes the product and adds a felt like material and some Velcro on the back to hold it in place. We absolutely love it, gives the front a different look and is very easy to clean, since it’s a vinyl product. And another benefit is the granite steps aren’t slippery when the get wet, ask me how I know. Hope this helps.

Jim I honestly do not know why that changed and it is nothing that Jessica or I initiated. We will correct as soon as possible.

As far as the blue highlighted boxes I do not even have that on 3 different machines. However, I will look into that as well.

We are here to help. Every change that we have made is to better serve the members and partners. We are not spending $$$ to agitate any of you. I am not a web designer. I for the life of me cannot understand how we can make an improvement in one area an it screws up something else in a completely different area.

    Thanks
