  • AIR FILTER OPTIONS?

Posted by Archived on April 1, 2022 at 1:51 pm

Trying to find a replacement air filter. Prevost says they are backordered.

    Anyone know of another source?

I called a local NAPA, and they had them, but wanted $179.

Art’s link to Amazon has them and it’s a NAPA GOLD filter for $92.

What is considered a decent price?

    Under $100 is pretty good.

    Fleetfilter.com

NAPA 6623 = WIX 46623, a little under $100 by the time it was at my door last summer.

I bought a lot of other filters at the same time from them. Good prices and fast shipping.

We got back from our 2K mile trip from SoCal out thru Arches NP and back, and it was time for fluids and filter change. When it comes to my transmission, i didn’t change the fluid, just the filter. I have one of those tools to cut it open so i can look inside and see what fun stuff is in there. Well, i removed the old, filled up the new, screwed it on and started the bus up at idle. After 10 mins or so idling, i hear a pop and what sounded like wind blowing under the bus, so i shut it off. At this point oil has made a 10 foot puddle for me to clean up. I felt around the filter and the rubber seal had popped out so the fluid was blowing by. I got to thinking I have transmission filters from 3 different manufacturers and all of them have different ID and OD seals. The Napa Gold matches my transmission the best when using calipers to check the ID and OD. the one that blew was almost 1/2 of the sealing surface too large. Has anyone paid attention to this or noticed anything like this when changing the various filters?
