We are considering on building a Coach house as well.
I’ve read several articles list in the forum and appreciate their articles. The notes on air conditioning, humidity control, lighting, doors, and insulation was all very helpful.
I would like some feed back from all owners who have built, on what they wished they would have done, that they didn’t, or didn’t need to do.
Should we consider the the width of the building with our slides open and awning extended? Since cleaning and working on them will be needed.
What about shelving, storage and shop & work benches needs. is the pit needed or jacks needed.
Would it be benefit on have a bathroom, showers and washer and dryer added. Possible small kitchen and food storage.
One of our thoughts is the amount of time we spend on pre and post trips. trips from the house to the coach in packing, unpacking, cleaning clothes, food, beverages, etc… is the downside.
Thanks to Jon, Dave, Bill III, Mark, Ron, Tom, Al, Chuck, your wife’s, and the rest on your threads.

I will have to look in the steering compartment. I pulled the entertainment center in bay 2 and no air compressor. I can pick up the bed no issues, it pushes air out of that valve. My guess is that my aux air is not working, I just need to find it. I spent some time in the front compartment fixing air leaks. I didn’t see a compressor but there is a line into a boxed in area behind the cruise airs, it might be there. I gain access to the box under the coach.

8 yrs ago I installed a California air tools 1 hp 120v compressor, Model MP100LF (no tank). Works great still. Can be bought with a tank for $50 less.
It can be bought on amazon -
No. I am waiting for you to do it first 😉

Mr Rudy is as good as they come, I’ve followed his advice and not had a Webasto issue for years.

I full time so I tow A LOT! I have towed over 300,000 miles and am now on my 3rd as everything wears out. I like my newest one best as they have improved the release handle function and I have not had a bind when it was time to unhook since purchasing this one about 2 years ago. The 2 previous were 10,000# but I now tow a Jeep Cherokee so I dropped down to a 7,500# version.

I would not risk it. If you can hear it and know it is not normal, get it checked out ASAP. You could destroy the engine if it is something serious.

Thank you, Greg! Great post and detail. Always super nice to hear good reports. Safe travels!

It’s been determined that it was a 2007 American Carriage XLII bunk coach. There’s a June 30th FB video of it leaving Legacy Coach towing a 4 door Jeep.

My guess is loose neutral in the shore power breaker box since its happening on both sides and seems ok on generator. . The bus bar could be loose or they landed the neutrals from both sides on the same lug and it is loose or corroded.

DKO,
on my engine: 1 of the three AX73 single belts became longer than the other 2. Nothing bad happened, it just not right. That problem is not really possible with the banded single.
I’ve heard rumor rock(s) could become lodged easier in the pulleys or belt causing a vibration.
Time will tell

The Corps of Engineers needs to take a look at my idea/proposal to divert high water flows from the Missouri and Arkansas Rivers through a tunnel/canal system to the Colorado.
