    BT and DD,

I haven’t towed the MKX just yet. I still have the ’13 Honda CR-V and I’m currently using it as I was in a hurry to leave and I’m familiar with the Honda connection, etc. We’re on a short 3 day trip and I didn’t want to be rushed setting up the Lincoln and will tow it soon as we are heading to Florida in about a month (hope FL is still there!).

I’ll keep you posted on the tire wear, have never heard other’s mention it.

    Safe travels,

    Mark

We would love to permit John to do a hands on demonstration of how to instlall his heater in the parking lot during the evening. We can arrange the lawn chairs in a semi circle and roott him on as he shows how to complete such a project. It will be his responsibility to have Teri prepared to pass out treats and beverages.

Sounds like the ones that have OTR would not be without it, and the ones that don’t have it are happy without it.

If you have never had OTR, then you don’t know what you are missing.

It has been a requirement in all 3 buses I have owned, and I would not be happy without it.

Later model coaches like Mr. Mark, with the ability to run A/C’s using 4 inverters, may be a different story.

It’s certainly another system to keep up with, but worth it in my book.

Over greasing of many points on our coaches creates serious problems and as owners we have to be certain whoever is greasing our coach that enough is enough.

Two common examples are as Gerald mentions, the overgreasing of the slack adjuster pivot on Meritor disc brakes. because the accumulated grease can prevent the release or retraction of the brake pads from the disc. That in turn can cause an overheated brake, warped discs or worse, a fire.

A second common problem with overgreasing is damage to the protective dust boots or dust covers on some suspension parts such as tie rod ends. When these components are greased all that is needed is enough grease to get between the two moving surfaces. Anything more is wasted, yet some grease monkeys keep pumping grease until a stream of it oozes from the rubber boot. If that happens often enough eventually the dust cover or rubber boot begins to tear with the eventual loss of protection against dirt contamination in a moving joint.

There are numerous other points on our coaches that can have problems due to over enthusiastic greasing so make sure whoever has the task of greasing the coach understands this.

Terri and I both have CC permits. I am professionally trained in and was an instructor in mixed martial arts, knife

fighting, stick fighting, Jui jit sui, multiple attackers, and firearms retention. I have sparred with professional cage

fighters. I have had my CC for 35 years. I have CC permits from three different states to expand my reciprocity.

I always have a four inch SOG knife in my possession, and a Sig P238 380. There is also always a 12 gauge

Mossberg in the coach. The best defense you have is awareness and the ability to avoid confrontation. After that

is the mindset to do whatever it takes to defeat who ever is threating you. He who hesitates is dead.

Tim, I have the older model with the repeater and it was an easy install. Hardest part for me was finding a 12 volt source in the rear for the repeater. Love it. Have had one false alarm in 12,000 miles, when it let me know the tire was going down even though it was not leaking. Pulled over and checked and all was well. Since I had the sensor unscrewed over 30 seconds, when I put it back all was well. Don’t know what caused the false alarm, but even though it caused a little incovienience, it showed the system works and it lets you know you have a problem. Good deal and good peace of mind.

I found an easy way to change out sensors for different towds. Just unscred the right front sensor, leave it off for more than 30 seconds and then screw it on the right front of the new towed. Follow site with the rest. LF to LF, etc and it registers the newer pressure and lets you easily monitor the different towed.

    Stay safe.

    Dan,

Sounds like a great opportunity to contact Toyota and talk them up about doing a safety PSA. Maybe some money could come your way.

Ok, Jon, I am a little more clear on your situation now and I (it pains me to say) agree, that’s stupid. Most of my living area controls are right behind the driver’s seat, but there were other panels in the bedroom and toilet and occasionally scattered about. The Crestron Cruisair setup could use some tweaking, however it may also need another piece of hardware to interface with the SMX controls. Andrew at ETLC can help with that.

Running a few wires would probably cost a few thousand dollars. Running all at once to one location is bound to be cheaper. Really, you are bound to have basically a Crestron-type pad when you are done though. For that matter, you could have an iPod Touch mounted to the wall in six different spots that stayed on the page that only controlled that area. For comparison, the one switch I had installed for the dinette cost just over $600, most of it labor of course.

Another thought about the switches, I didn’t care for the green glow of mine. At night it made driving difficult if I forgot to shut off the 20 or so of them right behind my seat. It was like a searchlight back there. More than once I had to get my sorry butt out of bed to go turn off the switch lights by the bedroom door as there were enough of them to burn my retinas THROUGH my eyelids.

I think the switches are made from a variety of manufacturers and the bulbs are specific to that brand.

I think the first step in replacing bulbs is to remove one from the switch and match it. An internet search is likely the best way to find the correct bulb once you know what it looks like.

    Kirby and Linda,

We experienced the same problem with ours. I spent a lot of time cleaning, lubing, replacing the seal

and trying to adjust the tension. I followed the advice that I was given by Peter Campbell, and replaced

our toilet with a Tecma Silence Plus. One of our best improvements to the coach to date.

I would like thank MikeD for taking the time to send Me the information on the foam roof coating. WOW it is going to be pricey. I will have to put that on My “Future plans ” list. After going to the website and looking it over. I think it would be a good investment for anyone that is going to keep their coach. It is BTW the first Prevost that this company done. RVRoof.com

It is members here helping out other members and sharing information that makes a difference. And Kudos to Mike for being the first Prevost owner to have it done. BoB is beautiful.

Wow Mark, I appreciate your help I really do, but if I got under the bus to do that I can almost guarantee my wife would be inside working the airbags!

And Fred I’ll talk to Jeff about the blinker fluid, I’d not want him missing something so obvious!

Have any of you had a combo black/gray tank? I have a feeling that’s what I have and is there any positive or negitive of having it?

Thanks as always for your help,

    Harry
