Well ah S#@t
Posted by Archived on August 22, 2017 at 7:40 pmJust after leaving Driggs a Prius tried to do a uturn smack in front of us. I hit her right in the driver’s door at just under 40mph, the driver was amazingly able to walk away. The Prius is toast, I think Cbus has some pics he can share.
Judy and I are fine, so are the puppies.
The bus is drivable, so we are headed back to Iowa instead of heading to the Redwoods. The entry door is crushed so we have to use the emergency windows and a ladder. (-:Many, many thanks to Doug and Jan, Jim and Chris and George for the help at the accident scene.
I’ll try and post a pic of the bus

Thank goodness everyone walked away. I’m amazed the Prius driver survived much less walked away from a 40 MPH impact to the drivers side door? Can you even imagine looking over and seeing something the size of a Prevost Bus coming at you! She’s a very lucky lady, Wow!
I’m sure happy that you and Judy are safe. Keep us posted on how you’re doing and what needs to be done to your bus?

That picture just hurts my heart! So glad neither of you were hurt. We had departed shortly after you guys, and Doug was getting ready as we left, so lucky they were there to help. Linda

So sorry to hear about this. No matter how bad the bus or the car are messed up, no one was hurt. I hope you and the redhead are doing OK. Has she calmed down yet?

WOW, also sorry to hear about the accident and glad that you both are OK (including the pets).
The bus doesn’t look too bad. I can only imagine what the Prius looked like and how a regular motorhome would have held up in a 40 mph crash.

So sorry, Dan, but we are glad you and Judy are OK. Hope the dogs did not get hurt or too upset.

We are so glad to hear everyone is okay! Thinking of both of you and hope the rest of your trip home is uneventful.
Take care,

Pic of the Prius, Harry
Judy , I, and Addy took everything in stride. Willie shook for most of the day, she’s all better now. -
Really glad that everyone and the pups are all okay, and that some good help was close by. The Prius driver is one very lucky lady…

Golly, so very sorry to hear about this, just glad that you two and the little beasties are ok. Know that having your PC friends nearby meant a lot :0) . Wishing you well and hope to see you again one of these days,

Sorry to hear that Dan & Judy, glad no injuries, the bus can be fixed.

Thanks for posting pics of the Prius. It makes me appreciate the rock-solid build of a Prevost after seeing the damage.
The poor new Prius looks to be totaled-out. The lady was lucky the brunt of the impact was at the A-pillar.
Dan, it’s a little hard to tell but did the Prius swing around and hit your bus behind the front wheel?
Safe travels,
Mark

Dan and Judy,
My heart breaks for You looking at the picture of Your beloved Prevost. Thank goodness You are all ok. It is a testament to the safety of the old tried and true Classic with rivets. Built like a tank ! I wonder how a H3 would look after a similar accident. They are structurally sound I am sure, But the body panels would not fair so well. ( Dont get Your feathers ruffled H3 owners ) They are magnificent looking coach’s for sure.I hope You can get Your coach fixed to Your satisfaction in a timely manor. That has got to be a PIA to climb in and out of the window.
Bsafe,
Rocky
