Roof Temp
My Dad has a CC XL he applied a 1 step roof coating on it and the amount of heat is disapates is crazy.. In the direct sunshine (87) OAT the skin with ditigal temp guage showed 137 were it wasnt coated and 95 where it was coated its a crazy …its white …. i wouldnt of beleived it if i didnt see it ….

it was some type of white rubber coating ! i will call him and get the name of the stuff !

ok folks sorry for the delay work has been alttle crazy… i only have 2 days of work left before i retire … the stuff is called “superior RV one part liquid Rubber roofing ” he got it of ebay 370ish for 5 gals

What do You mean ” Why ” ? You also said. ” A number of Us “. Humm , Thats frigging hilarious !Answer ; My old roof coating is aged and flaking off. It is a gray color and probably factory. It holds a lot of dirt and after I wash My coach , The next rain I will have streaks coming down the side of the coach. I want a insulating white coating that will stay clean, and rinse clean after a good wash. The rubber flowable stuff sounds good. But , Will it age after a year or two and hold dirt and debris ? Essentially creating the same problem.
There was a post a few months ago about a spray on foam roof coating that looked like a good alternative. A member here had it done out west somewhere. Does anyone have a name or a link for that ?Thanks in advance

I had a polyurea foam roof applied in Green Cove Springs, FL several years ago. Approx 3/16″ thick, and lifetime warranty. Best thing we’ve had done to our coach. Makes a huge difference in both heat and cold conditions. We have been in Benson, AZ for most of June and July. Third hottest summer on record here I believe, and had no problems keeping inside temps in the mid-low 70’s. Normally only 1 roof unit ran, 2 during the heat of the day. Thanks for the info. There are a lot of options out there. And they all sound like good products. Bus Kote , Kool Seal , On and on. I want the best insulation available that will be easy to keep clean. And rinse clean and not leave any streaks from runoff.BSafe,

The main reason we had our bus roof coated was due to the chalky run-off that appeared whenever it rained. Our reason for choosing Bus Kote was convenience (the company that applied it came to our house) and another PC member had used the same product and company and was pleased. You can probably reasearch each different product to determine R values, thickness, etc. Linda

I would like thank MikeD for taking the time to send Me the information on the foam roof coating. WOW it is going to be pricey. I will have to put that on My “Future plans ” list. After going to the website and looking it over. I think it would be a good investment for anyone that is going to keep their coach. It is BTW the first Prevost that this company done. RVRoof.com
