Has anyone who purchased the Pressure Pro Pulse system, installed it themselves?

I didn’t know he was going to post this, but I watched the back and forth with Jon and Presssure Pro over a few weeks analyzing actual on the road data and was impressed by their efforts to assure the system does as advertised. Jon’s data collection was used to determine the effects of the stainless XLII’s and proper antenna positioning.
I now have the same setup on my H and my recent 700 mile trip to Vonore pulling a 14′ dual axle trailer worked well with no loss of signal and accurate temps. Hopefully my sensors are still on the wheels at Jeff’s, everything else seems to be dissapearing, don’t know what the hell my spy is doing to correct all this. I even asked if Fred was up there, you gotta watch him.

Jon: What kind (brand/model) of digital tire pressure gauge do you use? Many of us lemmings want to use the same equipment on our coaches that you do.
Jon/Tom: With these new Pressure Pro indicators that go on the tires, can you add and release air without removing the indicator? Based on Jon’s glowing recommendation for Pressure Pro products, it sounds like he can check air pressures with the indicators on.

I read Jon’s post and immediately logged into the Weather Channel to check and sure enough, Hell froze over.
Those of us who upgraded our flip phones have been using the Pressure Pro for some time and have been waiting for Hell to freeze over for Jon to open his wallet, let the moths free and buy a Pressure Pro. As Gomer Pyle would say “Shazamm” Jon likes it.

The pressure gauge I use came from Griot’s Garage and it is a device that I can hook to a hose, fill the tire with air and then read the pressure. It has a 160 PSI range I think. Very accurate and I know if it agrees with the Pressure Pro readings as it does its accuracy is right on because they have a means of testing their sensors to a 1 or 2 PSI accuracy.
They currently do not show my digital version, only an analog model.

Jon: Is this the gauge you use? Goes to 150psi.

That’s the one I have.
I really like it. It is accurate. well built, and I can use it stictly as a tire pressure gauge, or hook up an air hose and use it to fill and check pressures.
When you forget to include links or photos it is a sign of old age. Tom does that all the time.

I did mine Tim, it’s the Pulse with the new dynamic sensors and 40′ external antenna. The antenna isn’t difficult, it’s just time consuming. You need to get the antenna as far to the rear as possible. I came out of the steering bay, up over the inside fender well and down the side of the bus, then mounted the antenna to the gen exhaust bracket. I used cable fasteners and silicone to assure the cable was secure. You must have a good ground. We did 2600 miles this summer with 1 rear toad tire signal loss for a short period of time and it all worked well.
You do have two other options. For those that don’t want to fool with the external antenna, you can do the Pulse with the standard sensors and repeater. The only down side is the temperature reading is in 40 degree increments instead of 2 degrees with the newer dynamic sensors. Not a big deal as I see it. The other option is the standard 16W monitor with repeater.

My Pressure Pro Bridge, which I’ve used in conjunction with my Silver Leaf system to monitor the tires, is having some major issues. They don’t manufacturer those units anymore, so unless I can find a rebuilt one, I’ll be giving you a call. With this system, I don’t get temps, but I do get psi ratings by each pound, so I’m somewhat spoiled.
When you say “40 degree increments” is that for the temperature or the psi for the tire?

Tim, 40 degree is for the temperature.
I love my system, bought it through Tom. I have the one with the repeater and 40 degree increments.
I never have to check my tires anymore, just turn on Pressure Pro.
I was a little alarmed at first when one tire showed 190 degrees, and the one next to it showed 150. Then, I realized by verifying with a temp gun, that if it is really 151 degrees, the monitor will show 190.
Increments are
70-110
110-150
150-190 and so on, Tom correct me if I’m wrong on those……

Tim, I have the older model with the repeater and it was an easy install. Hardest part for me was finding a 12 volt source in the rear for the repeater. Love it. Have had one false alarm in 12,000 miles, when it let me know the tire was going down even though it was not leaking. Pulled over and checked and all was well. Since I had the sensor unscrewed over 30 seconds, when I put it back all was well. Don’t know what caused the false alarm, but even though it caused a little incovienience, it showed the system works and it lets you know you have a problem. Good deal and good peace of mind.
I found an easy way to change out sensors for different towds. Just unscred the right front sensor, leave it off for more than 30 seconds and then screw it on the right front of the new towed. Follow site with the rest. LF to LF, etc and it registers the newer pressure and lets you easily monitor the different towed.

If you can’t find a DC source in the rear for the repeater, use an AC/DC 12v converter and plug into any AC outlet. They’re less than 20 bucks at Pressure Pro.
