Not sure this will help or not… But we have worked with Miller since we purchased our bus. We have agreed value I want to say our premium is 3-4K a year for our 2007 Marathon. Only had one claim and they were great to work with. If anything the rate seems low to me… is that 6month or annual? if it helps with the math… our agreed value is 590K

Each coach is different. Some awnings such as the automatic Zip Dee awnings with arms require frequent attention. Some awnings don’t require anything. It all depends on how a coach is equipped. It is exactly like a house in the respect there are a lot of things that need to be done.

I have seen lots of cavitation erosion, but never saw or heard that it would do what happened here. If what they say is true, it is another reason to change out anti-freeze often. It is like oil changes, lots cheaper than engines…..

Our Monaco down shifts to 3rd upon activation of the Jake. I usually leave the Jake on low and switch to high Jake on steep down grades. With the Jake on high the coach will slow down even on an 8% grade.

Remember when shopping, older H3-45’s received “goodies” before the XLII’s. Such as disc brakes, dual pane windows, air activated button to tilt/telescope steering wheel, and because of different rear/drive axle inner duals are alloy and 9 inches wide, instead of 8 3/4 inch wide steel wheels.

OSBMXR, I think you will find that owners of motorhome of all types skew older, so that’s not much of a surprise. A Prevost in the price range you are talking about will definitely be older, and may have 100k miles or more, which scares off a lot of buyers even though it probably should not. Older buses are very hard to finance, which also limits the number of available buyers. For the $150k you mention, one could buy a much newer “plastic” coach with 50k or fewer miles that can be financed and maybe even covered by a warranty, so that route is attractive for a lot of people. Also, the maintenance on a Prevost is more than a regular motorhome, primarily due to the greater complexity and Prevost owners’ desire to keep the luxury appointments working and looking great. Scares off even more folks. So there are just a limited number of intrepid folks who want to take this path, and consequently the older buses sometimes take a long time to sell.
I’m middle aged (assuming I live to 100, which is my plan), not retired, and bought my first Prevost 10 years ago at around around the price you mention. For me it was a no brainer and it worked out great, but I certainly understand why its not right choice for everyone. I’m the only driver in my family. Luckily I don’t mind 10+ hour driving days, but you do need to consider that if you have a strict schedule to keep and sitting behind the wheel for long stretches is not your idea of enjoying your bus. You are thinking about the right stuff and you found a good resource here. Good luck with your decision.

I am in petoskey right now doing a clinic came from Ann Arbor staying at petoskey motorcoach resort very nice and for 730 dollars a nite good deal its right across street from where I am doing clinic can walk to horses they never even asked age of bus just how long do you want to stay very nice place. Phone number 231-348-2400 if its a Prevost tell them it’s a 2008 or 2009 they do not know the difference

Which has been discussed but has so far proven too expensive and difficult to add.
However, If you are from E TN you might really need the spell check feature so perhaps the way around it is to create a word document, check the spelling and grammar, and then when it is OK, cut and paste to the forum.
The only problem at that time is you might be on your own to figure out if you should use “Their”, There” or They’re”
The good news is we do not grade the posts for spelling or grammar. If we did we would have to hire someone because that is way beyond our pay grade.

It would have never got off the ground in Oklahoma. The OHP walks up to the car and says to the man behind the wheel, “You got any ID?” and the man replies … “About whut?”
I get thrown off a lot of sites, uhhhhh, I visit a lot of sites, and this one is a breeze to use, once you learn the inns and out’s of it, a real joy.
About the only thing it really needs boys is a working spelling checker.

I stayed at Liberty two years ago. Just a gravel parking lot with hook ups. But easy access to Manhatton.

Marathon put’s 2 fans in your inverter box with a thermostat. One fan pulls air and one pushes it out. Depending on where your at it could run longer than usual.
Our buses are set up a little different but in the swamps of TX in 105 temps and 95 humidity mine ran until 2am one night.
I don’t know what the cut in and cut out tempature is because I have only tested mine with a hair dryer.Later
