PS – It’s the sprayer hand piece that’s the problem and I haven’t been able to match anything up that will look nice due to the age and discoloring. I may just replace the whole assembly.

I am far from an expert on this, but having had an 8V92 and having changed coolant and SCA cartridges as per the schedule I still ended up with a radiator that needed to be recored. I suspect, but have no statistical evidence to prove this, that two stroke engines either need to be run hard and often or they are just prone to radiator plugging.
Unless you have radiator shutters that are not functioning properly or some problem with the fan or water pumps you may have to consider recoring the radiator. The quickest way to convert a perfectly good engine into a boat anchor is to run it hot, so you should not delay curing the problem.
An 8V92 with a good radiator and cooling system is typically going to run about 180 degrees and pulling long steep hills at max power it is unlikely the temps will exceed 195 so the temps you indicate suggest strongly your cooling system needs attention. The radiators can be recored and pulling and replacing the radiator is not a particularly time consuming job.

Jon, Go to the Prevost site, look at slide pin sensor adjustment, The part I unpluged must have been a sensor override? Like you say at least it gets you going, but seems prudent to get it somewhere to have Prevost look at it. A bus garage would only deal with seated coaches I would think and not be familiar with our slide out system, all the more reason as you say to try to become familiar with it’s workings, guess I will be making a trip to Goodletsville! A 2 stroke Detroit has an air box. It’s the area that surrounds the
intake ports of the cylinder liners. This area is where the pressurized
air from the supercharger and turbo (if it has one) is waiting for
piston to clear the intake ports and allow the fresh air to enter the
cylinder and help force burnt fuel out the exhaust valves. The
pistons in a 2 stroke have a set of rings (3) on the top, 2 of them
provide sealing against the cylinder walls for compression and the other
one kinda acts as sponge to hold oil for piston to cylinder
lubrication. The unusual thing about 2 stroke pistons is that they have 2
rings on the bottom of the piston, These rings keep the oil thrown from the crankshaft from getting into the airbox and the pressure
from supercharger / turbo from getting into the crankcase which would
result in blow by out the valve cover vents, Since neither set of rings
are 100% efficient at doing their jobs some oil enters the airbox. The
airbox drains (slobber tubes) allow a place for the residual oil to
exit. Detroit came up with check valves at some point for the airbox drains. These valves are pressure sensitive and shut off the drains once the internal
airbox pressure is over 6 PSI. This happens just above idle and helps
reduce leaks while traveling. The airbox drain tubes are about 3/8 inch ID
and the crankcase vent tubes for the valve covers are about 1 inch. As the
engine wears and the piston rings become less efficient at their job
more oil enters the airbox and more blow by exits from the valve cover vents.
If the engine has no obvious leaks tiny oil splatters on the towed
vehicle usually come from the airbox drains. If you build a catch tank
for your drains it must also have a vent. This is a somewhat simplified version of the process and there maybe a better way to
explain it, that’s my best shot.

Tom has part of it right. A sense of humor is required, and considering the list of attendees I would suggest thick skin may also help. Oh, also bring tools. I have never been to a rally of Prevost owners (and the occasional SOB) that did not involve a community effort in monkeying with someone’s coach. If I remember right the last time we were in OKC we changed one of Harry’s inverters and Paul got a new windshield, Roger got a tire fixed and maybe worked on his awning (not sure of that one).

Box Car Okie has a really neat Eagle and he is going to bring some class to the Three Amigos rally. He has a blog http://boxcarokie.com/ that shows some photos and if you read his blog you will see his coach finds its way into the discussion from time to time.
I don’t think he will charge any money for folks to listen to the sweet sound of his 2 cycle engine, but if he does don’t hold back. Those are still the nicest sounding engines made. If Dal J shows up along with the Hangman maybe we can get a symphony going.
BCO is unaware of just how twisted this group has the potential to be, and is likely to wonder about a group of bus drivers that play with sheep so I would urge good behavior at least for a while.

If your gauges are steady but the aux air drops in 20-40 minutes that means you do not have an aux system air pressure gauge. The gauges you are seeing are your two brake systems.
Our coaches have three air systems. Two brake systems and an auxiliary air system. The brakes systems are just that. They are exclusively for the brakes and until they are satisfied with about 75 PSI the air in your bus will not be delivered into the aux air system. I suspect you are seeing your air pressures fluctuate but do not recognize it as such since aux air is supplied after the brake systems the aux air drops, and then pressure from the brake system feeds into the aux system to maintain its pressure.
Our coaches typically have a lot of uses for auxiliary system air, ranging from the suspension to the air door lock to horns, to driver’s seat to toilets, pocket doors, generator air bags and belt tensioning bellows. Depending on the age of the coach there can be other uses for air as well such as wipers, shutters, transmission retarder, slide seals and even a bed lift. Every one is a potential leak point and only keeping after leaks is a coach apt to be reasonably leak free. Ignoring leaks is OK to a point, but after a while as the leak rate increases the engine driven air compressor is working harder and longer. Out of control leaks such as a large one in an air bag have the potential to shut you down unless your air systems check valves and protection valves are in working order, something that needs to be verified for your safety every time a technician is under your coach.
Finding leaks at $100 an hour will stop most folks because leak detection is a painful process that takes time and multiple methods. But if you ever get an opportunity to start chasing leaks because you have access to a pit or support stands take advantage of it. Hector has what we all consider a leak free coach and I believe he will echo my comments about aiming towards that goal. He has developed the skills and methods needed to know where and how to look and I hope he can jump in here to suggest ways to start “picking the low hanging fruit” to use his phrase.

About a year ago, I had mine serviced in Florida, won’t mention a name online and using the infrared gun on the way home I discovered a very hot steer wheel. The service facility greased a fitting on the caliper that is not suppose to get any grease causing the brake pad to drag. Expensive lesson, but the infrared gun saved my day.

A couple of years ago, we put one in our Eagle. I built it in the front bay on the passenger side, and it took up roughly half of the bay to do it.
What we discovered was it wasn’t really worth the money to do it, or the labor, it is a neat thing to have. But from a realistic standpoint, it doesn’t get used all that much. For my money, I think keeping the space is a better idea, now that I have stepped into both worlds, I would say …. You can live without it.

Our daughter graduates the first part of June, so we’ll be taking off for
Phoenix. She is moving to Washington State and we are going to haul all
the things she doesn’t take with her back to our house and Craigslist it or
trash it.We sold our farm ground a couple of years ago and retired from photography
the end of last year, so we are keeping busy fixing up our home and planning
travels.We are taking a Harley ride to the North West to see her in July, we have
never been in that part of the country.We signed up for the Oyster fest in AL., so we are looking forward to that,
it will be nice to see everyone again.
