I am under the impression that Prevost delivers the shell as a grey base paint and Liberty paints it.

We have gone 4 times in Jan and we had some rain a couple of times but no wind storms, first 2 times we had the Foretravel with a front Generator so a little cleaner, second 2 times we had the bus, The only difference was the Generator blows from underneath so I brought a plastic tarp that I slid under bus, started where generator blows for cooling to rear axles 10 x 20 tarp no big deal, a couple of rocks to hold down tarp, I’m pretty picky also. The Desert is beautiful in the winter time and usually warm. This year in Indio at the Elk’s it was not so warm you can see pic of rear of bus with palm trees and snow on hills behind.

Don, be careful with that product make sure you rinse it really well. I used some of that when i rodded my radiator and it erodes aluminum very quick.

A number of converters modified the Prevost suspension control system by either using a commercially available leveling system or a proprietary one. Also Prevost offered an optional “level low” system for motor home chassis, and the motor home system varied a little from what was provided on seated buses, such as the front end kneeling feature.

The label only takes into account the unit itself and does not take into consideration the copper.

I’ve been doing my own A/C work on these units. Had multiple LO PS on bedroom unit. Thought it was low on R-22. Charged it and it went away. Recently went into the unit (took cover off) and was checking caps etc. Funny thing is, the LO PS started to return randomly. Come to find out, the low pressure switch connections that go from the board to the remote control board was loose. I had a meter on the actual pressure switch and it was fine. So, I actually charged it for no reason few months ago. A lot of this is trial and error IMO. It seems the “subcool” app numbers for charging do not work for these units. It had me remove or add when things were already perfect.

I do have one unit that has low head pressure for some reason. About 110 PSI running. I believe the valves on the compressor are bad, but haven’t confirmed. Without a pump down option, not sure how to test it.. Perhaps maybe block the condenser coils off with something like cardboard. Bought a filter dryer already JIC I do the compressor swap, if I can find one to replace the original one. Hard to find a 12-13k BTU 115v R22 unit these days.

I’ve heard of others suggesting that AAP told them to take out the HGB but not sure if removing that will drain all R22 or if there is a schrader valve it connects up to.

Very glad that AquaAir is coming out with a drop in as it does make me breathe easier JIC something totally goes wrong with one or more of these units. I’m currently in Texas and with only 3 running, it’s very hard to keep the bus cool in only 85 degree weather.

I read some blogs from people who took RVs to Burning Man and said the blowing dust killed their RVs and would never do it again.

What is your experience with Quartzite with Prevost buses?

I had a lot going on this weekend and didnt get to make headway on the bus.

Saturday I painted the frame with Por15. Sunday I did my 2nd coating of Por15. Only thing left to do in terms of painting is the final top coat.

I hope to get all my brakes on this weekend.

Wow ibp has like everything:) just gotta figure what they’re all called and how much it’ll be to see if best to replace with oem look or if I should just custom make something to go along the whole thing.

I have a lot of stuff to do on this coach already so looks like that might be on hold a bit if not a simple solution. Seems they had it with just holes for years.

Now if I can just get Prevost Nashville to finish up the coach and call me I can actually get to drive it and bring the little buddy home

Hi Andy, sounds like you might have found a diamond in the rough, how much does he want for it? The Bus is going to need work whether you do it or someone else. Welcome to the Forum, The Internet is a great resource.

Could you post some pictures of the painted rear drums, tag axle calipers, torque plates and axle housings? If its not too much trouble? Thanks!

Thanks Hidden! The more I learn about refrigeration the more I realize I don’t know. I’m anxiously awaiting pricing and actual use of the new AquaAire. As I understand it, AquaAire was developed as a direction replacement for CruiseAires.

Crawled under today and found the coolant leak, pax side, inside the frame rail, next to the tag bag, two 7/8″ i.d. heavy duty hoses, Marine Products Intl (MPI), where a wire ty is holding them together by who? Preious owner, Prevost, Liberty. Probably original hoses. I knew the day was coming. I’ve had new coolant waiting in the wings for a while now. I’ll be making a list.

Sold my 315’s 10 year old 200 a piece Dump truck and loggers jump at it as they destroy tires frequently in off road situations
