  • Holes along bottom of XL2

Posted by Archived on April 4, 2023 at 7:35 pm

I just bought a 2008 XL2 today and all along the bottom of the coach are these holes, like something’s missing. Anyone know what it is and why? Its at the prevost shop right now getting new chassis batteries and a couple things before I take delivery in the morning.

I noticed another coach next to mine (X3 maybe) which had rubber bushings where these holes were. Wondering if I need to get these rubber bushings or maybe put some amber round LED lights in the holes. Seems some go straight through to the bay and others are behind panels.

Those holes are for the lower trim pieces added by converters.

Marathon has a very distinctive concave trim piece and others us a flatter trim piece that has bolts welded to the back and you tighten them with nuts from the inside of the doors.

They are about 8” high and the length of each door.

Look at buses for sale and you will see.

    Who converted your bus?

Thank you, guess I’ll find something for them. It was a custom one done by Nashville Coach. I’m planning a full remodel

Check international bus parts, (ibp) some entertainer style coaches used rubber rub rails almost all converted coaches used stainless.

Wow ibp has like everything:) just gotta figure what they’re all called and how much it’ll be to see if best to replace with oem look or if I should just custom make something to go along the whole thing.

I have a lot of stuff to do on this coach already so looks like that might be on hold a bit if not a simple solution. Seems they had it with just holes for years.

Now if I can just get Prevost Nashville to finish up the coach and call me I can actually get to drive it and bring the little buddy home

Why are they gone? Was it repainted?

No idea I think the coach was built without anything there. It was a mobile display bus. I just bought it yesterday and saw it for the 1st time. Dealer wanted it to have a full DOT inspection and have chassis batteries replaced for me so everything was good to go so just chilling in a hotel waiting for them to be done. Bought it sight unseen and spent about 5 minutes checking it over before signing the final paperwork.
