Cruiseair review – one not working
Today it happened to be 70 out in the North. I took it as a chance to test my cruiseair units, in the fall my cruise airs were not cooling off the bus. So I knew something was wrong with them. I have 4 units, 2 behind the front bumper and 2 behind the wall in bay 2 on the curb side.
Port unit had 110psi static pressure on the high side but it would not turn on.
Fwd unit had 150 psi static pressure and would turn on, but it would turn off I suspect to hit the limit.
Star unit had 150 psi static pressure and would work
Aft unit had 150 psi static pressure and would work
2 units have a rusty low pressure valve, so I was not able to check low pressure while they were running.
Overall it appears I have 3 units low on r22 and one with an issue I will need to diagnose.
Where should I start with the unit that is not working?
Also does anyone know where the 4th unit is in the bus, I have located the one above the driver, one behind the fridge and one in the bed room but I do not know where that other unit is.

Two will be behind the front bumper. Two will be in the second bay, accessible from a panel on the rear wall of the first bay for the lower one, and from a panel in the forward rear of the second bay behind the entertainment system (which has to be removed).

I have located all the lower units but I can’t locate one unit inside the bus. I’m told both are behind the fridge. When I remove the fridge I’ll check.
I static checked 3/4 units and one unit won’t work.

One unit above driver seat, one unit behind fridge, one unit under stove between closet and drawers, one unit above engine behind bed. This is depending on your converter I assume. These are the EBS16S’s.

The last one was under the pantry. It was super dirty and I cleaned and reinstalled filter

Updates.
I found a residential company willing to work on my units. I have a few low side valves that are rusted and the metal is soft and wont move. We will be removing any bad valves. My goal on all my repairs is to make it easier for repairs down the road. If I have valves not working and they stand no chance of working right I feel not replacing is only half fixing the issue. Will update more, its very hard to fix ac stuff in right now since our temps are not coming out of the 40s.

That is a very, very rare occurrence. Some to many refrigeration shops that work on marine Cruise-Airs won’t touch them in a motorhome. Not even a Prevost.

I have a 1996 Liberty 45 and My Cruse airs need service also but im having a hard time finding someone to work on them and the fact that in 2020 R22 has banned by the EPA i have been told. Are there new cruse air units avalable or can i still find R22

The Cruisair replacements displayed a the Prevost Expo being made by Aqua-Air should be available soon. The company is purchasing the materials in bulk and preparing to go into production. I should be receiving the first unit in my bus late June, early July.
