Dick, in addition to clear title, at a minimum you should also get a bill of sale. That will establish purchase price, for reasons such as taxes, insurance or loss value and even estate matters. In sale of a complicated machine like this, sellers and buyers both usually benefit from a short purchase/sale agreement which specifies any representations and warranties made or disclaimed. Be aware that not all liens show up on title, for instance where a small business that owned the bus has pledged all of its assets as security for a bank or SBA loan. It’s not usually a problem, but its good to know your seller and get a written assurance of no liens if you are buying from a business other than a vehicle dealer. Good luck!

Al: ” As the engine rotates the crankshaft splashes oil along with an internal oil pump that pumps oil to the upper part of the engine.”

Are you sure the crankshaft splashes the oil around the crankcase? I would think that would foam up the oil and aerate the oil. I would have thought that internal oil pump would have circulated the oil through all the oil galleys and nooks and crannies.

You need to realize an inverter is power service point. As such, it has its own neutral and it bonds neutral and safety ground together. Therefore, the transfer relay inside the inverter/charger must switch hot, neutral, and safety ground.

Your manual selection switches should also be switching both hots, neutral and ground.

If I’m reading Jon’s post correctly, I don’t recommend that approach. If you did you would also have to lift the nuetral and grounds from the bus bars they are attached to and connect them to the inverter power. I also assume you don’t want to power everything on one leg of the two from the inverter. So, you can’t just divert the power from one leg to the inverter. The inverter’s transfer switch can’t take the extra load and the inverter can supply enough power.

We stayed there for one night last month coming back from Key West. One night and we took the second row.

A couple of folks spoke as I hooked up the power but no privacy issues. Nice overnight spot but not sure I’d want to stay a week.

Do you have the “master” code for it? If not, try that. You can get it from Prevost if you don’t know it.

yeah, I can see the novelty wearing off or the air pocket door springing an air leak to 😉 You think in some respect, the converters could offer a non O/S or package or just Crestron for the entertainment package.

You are right about support if it takes a dump. Speaking of phone numbers, if ya want, I can reduce the random calling if I only write it in stalls from Montana truck stops ;p ha ha.

Oh, the King or queen beds in back, are they one mattress on a box with interior storage below by lifting or standard bed with box spring?

Also for pets or should I say pet resistant, what is the best floor for resisting claw scratches when dog walks on the floor? What fabric for the chair or sofa as well? Fabric concern is shedding of hair and flooring is based on seeing scratches in the reflection or looking straight at it. That is assuming dog accidentally gets on furniture. Not sure of breed though daschund or rottweiler. I like them both, if I can protect interior well enough.

I think that Jon and Tom’s reasoning on rallies is spot on. Until circumstances and the atmosphere changes, it’s just not worth it. But, in the meantime, I think membership driven and inspired “mini rallies” are a great alternative. They can be held seasonally and regionally with a minimum of fuss, and can be great fun. Just for starters, something like Lobsta Fest can expand. A group of us has gone to Everglade Isle the last couple of years and has decided next year to do it after Seafood Fest from now on, as none of us were going to the festival anyway(having more fun among ourselves) and it is half the price after or before that weekend. The possibilities are endless. We all know of possible places in our given regions or in our travels and the rest is just up to our imaginations. Lets toss around some ideas in Tampa next month.

Most folks are concerned about transmission temps when using a retarder. I was relieved to see the very generous transmission cooler that Prevost uses in my ’04 Vantare (retarder equipped). It’s plumbed downstream from the coolant pump just before the DD S60 oil cooler, and it’s huge! On a long downhill the transmission transfers the heat into the cooler which is then cooled by the dedicated S60 radiator; dedicated because there’s no call for S60 engine power during long decents. The retarder and transmission cooler can be designed to tranfer heat as if the system has 100% use of the engine radiator. The size of the transmission cooler is key in getting the heat from the retarder to the engine’s radiator, and Prevost didn’t scrimp!

There is an ’05 XLII for sale on Parliament’s site that’s equipped with both a transmission retarder and jake brakes. Coming from a Wanderlodge where redundancy is king, I’d really like to have both! 🙂

I would look into your fuel delivery(lines, fuel tank restrictions,etc.).Sometimes there could be something floating in your tank and when fuel is drawing,it would partially block your lines. You did not mention fuel mileage.

I not sure on your drawing but on mine the aux air are dotted lines but some are aux air and the line is solid ,start at the aux air tank and follow them we laminated mine used erasable mark then you can follow them it goes to steering bay on mine when it leaves tank it should have a D coming out of tank that means delivery mine goes to norgren filter in steering bay.

Thanks Greg, I am thinking along those same lines, Just wonder how it will look. I am going to take the window assembly out anyway to clean and repaint the aluminum framework that has started bubbling.

We have a shop here in Tampa that can cut the glass also. Will see what they recommend when I get it out.

I don’t know if there has to be a vacuum on the air space between the double glass if we go back that way ??

Will call today and see if I can get some preliminary info.
