Don’t know about those windows , I have mine open a little when I drive if it’s not raining or snowing I like the fresh air so the noise does not bother me sorry can’t help but that might be nice , I have the ss air deflectors too have not noticed much air noise but maybe I have window open to much of the time so it does not seem like to much noise .

I do notice a bit of wind noise at highway speeds due to lack of engine or tire noise. I always thought it was primarily caused by the big mirrors not the windows. Are your gaskets in good shape?

In the past I owned 3 xl’s. If you notice the front is curved in, that is where a lot of the wind comes from. The xl2’s are same size across the front with no curve, lot less wind noise

Since I usually travel in areas where it’s too hot or too cold, opening a window is never an option. I have tried it a couple of times on those rare moderate days and I find that this is louder, not quiter.

In any case, that’s not the info I am looking for. I really liked this modification and it really eliminated the road noise (and looked pretty cool, too). I was hoping to find someone who knew what I was referring to.

Sorry Bill I know it was not the info you where looking for . Was just sharing my experience ,and I thought that was cool also about the window you where looking for….I to drive every week about 1500 miles every week from the 1of March until the 1 of December , I move every week drive two days then rest for one and work for 4 days every week all over the USA and Canada for the last 28 years I too am a working man just like everybody on here they all work or have worked very hard at one time..

I would like to replace my drivers slide window due to fogging. If you decide to replace yours let me know and I may be in the market for yours if it is clear. If not I may also look at the new window you refer to.

Our fleet of MCIs in Yellowstone had solid drivers windows with a sliding manual toll window. Yep, that would be col for ur XL. Our windows are foggy too, and in order to back in the barn we lay a string of rope lighting on the floor to aid aiming the bus backing looking thru the fogged glass. We don’t drive much at night anymore, for several reasons, one being foggy windows. Suncoast in Florida is too far to drive for a weekend.

I have had Prevost replace 2 of my sliders (1 twice) due to fogging and now one is showing signs of fogging again when the sun hits it just right.

That’s what made me start thinking about that aftermarket glass I had seen. It had need done on an early 90’s Marathon and looked very nice.

The passenger side was replaced in 2001 and still looks great, but the drivers has fogged up in the last year. Rest of the double insulated windows look great.

I don’t understand why just the drivers window. I am going to check with a local glass shop.

I thought only use Prevost, but if yours did not last I may go local. I thought about only single glass but hate to loose the insulation.

peninsula glass is in Vancouver Washington, call them not a big company and they can make anything you want.Robert how much insulation can you loose with that big single pane windshield and side glass?

i think the double pane was to help you see but it seems to do just the opposite.

i wonder how hard it would be to remove the inner glass?

Thanks Greg, I am thinking along those same lines, Just wonder how it will look. I am going to take the window assembly out anyway to clean and repaint the aluminum framework that has started bubbling.

We have a shop here in Tampa that can cut the glass also. Will see what they recommend when I get it out.

I don’t know if there has to be a vacuum on the air space between the double glass if we go back that way ??

Will call today and see if I can get some preliminary info.

The slider and adjacent fix double pane glass on the XL was a common problem with internal condensation.

Removal and replacement is easy. Cut the Sikaflex around the perimeter of the glass from the outside and then from the inside, push the glass out, clean the frame, apply it to the perimeter of the inner portion of the frame, insert the new glass and apply it to the gap between the new glass and the frame, and trim as necessary. And then in a while repeat the process.

Those long term XL owners found if they catch it early before the interior of the glass gets etched most local glass companies can disassemble the window, clean the glass and reseal it. Most local glass companies can also make a new thermopane window from scratch reasonably inexpensively.

The problem is one the seal between glass panes fails, the glass assembly “breathes” and as it draws in air from outside it also pulls in the humidity which eventually is seen as condensation.

I could not get our local glass company interested in the reseal, but they did pass on the following resource for anyone with the fogging issue that wants to get it repaired while in Florida, there is a company that is devoted to these repairs on all coaches and busses.

I asked if they had the smaller “Token” style window available but they do not have any special windows. She said it could probably be made if the coach was there for fitment, but I know you are on the other coast.

Jon has given me some confidence so I am going to tackle ours myself since I am going to remove it anyway to paint.

My 94 Liberty that I bought from Brian was changed out to single pain and it was great. I doubt Brian is on here, but maybe someone knows how he got it done.
