Dick, if your bus is like mine, the expansion/accumulator/DIAPHRAGM tank is in the water bay with the pump, HW heater, etc. It’s probably BIG and blue and may say A O Smith on it(see pic). The model of mine is a Hydro-Pro # V15P. See p.2 of the following link

    http://www.watertanks.com/content/pdfs/watertankscom-goulds-hydropro.pdf

It has a Schrader valve on it so as to check and fill the air pre-charge. With zero pressure in the water system, precharge should be 18 psi. To set pre-charge, open faucet(s) and let all the pressure out. Then set diaphragm tank pre-charge to 18 psi. Turn on the pressure pump till it shuts off, then re-check the pressure. Mine reads 50 psi.

    I hope this helps

Dick, Dont forget the colder the supply water to the water heater the more it will expand when heated to a given temp. If your keeping your water bay at 40 degrees you will be getting much more expansion than in the summer when its 60. If your expansion tank air pressure is a bit off or marginally sized for the system(for example) it may only give you problems when its cold. Im not saying hold out for summer or you dont have an issue. Im just saying if you havent used your coach in this cold of temps the issue may have always been there. Jeff

Steve, I don’t think the popping inverter breaker has anything to do with the webasto. On my bus, the webasto is 100% 12v. The inverters can be switched off and the webasto system will operate perfectly.

    Patrick,

I had the same problem that you are describing. The drivers bay left norgren in front floor that is electrically actuated was leaking out the exhaust port. Rebuilt it once and replaced it once. That did not help. Turned out that I had a 5 port on the rear bulkhead in front of the drives , Outside valve that was leaking and feeding back to the front valve and exhausting. Had that one replaced and no more leak. I know of at least one more liberty owner who had the same issue. If You have already changed that one out in the rear. It might be bad from factory.

This is a general comment……Our generators do have belts or the remote cooling fans have belts. The problem is none are visible but they do need occasional replacement.

Unless you know your generator or generator radiator belts are new or recently replaced it might not be a bad idea to give some thought to inspecting and possibly replacing them. Better to do it before you need the generator.

Just two comments. First, the converters don’t make things hard for us otherwise we wouldn’t be buying their product. What I cannot grasp is why it should be hard to hook up a shore power cord and I can only conclude something is not right. I don’t know if someone has monkeyed with the coach and changed it, or if the cord has been replaced with one that is not exactly compatible with the attachment on the coach or if Harry is doing something wrong. I know we have some Beaver owners and experts on here and I hope they can post photos of their shore cord connections.

My next comment however is concern that Harry would be even touching a shore power cord that had bare wires showing.

The risk of a problem when the cord end has bare wires showing is significant. They all come apart with simple tools and that cord for sure should be taken apart, have the individual wires reattached and secured and then reassembled so no wires are showing. This is a severe safety hazard.

We have not done that because the seminar does not lend itself to video recording. We move fast, bounce back and forth with questions interspersed with the presentation in one bay of the ETLC shop.

Further adding to the difficulty is the fact we are not only in a “classroom” setting, we are under a coach or two, and anywhere we need to be to demonstrate something. It is not fair to those attending to add the accommodations for videoing the proceedings, dealing with sound and light issues and possibly needing close access to things for viewing.

If it is to be recorded it should be done solely for a camera and not during a real class. If attendance is not possible I strongly suggest starting to view the multitude of Prevost webinars that can be found on the Prevost Car site.

    Andy,

If you have to have a chassis battery charger on all the time you have a problem.

The toilet was placed on the seating bench, not the table. Besides, it had been flushed with fresh water a gazillion times, when I was hoping to be able to flush out the clog.

It sure feels good having a working toilet again.

No fun getting-up in the middle of the night and having to walk to the campground toilets …

    Cheers,

    Ronald

At 12.4 after overnight unplug you’re doing real good Alvie. This is a good example of not needing any type of add on devices to get good life out of your Lifeline batteries. Don’t discharge below 12 – 12.2 volts, charge back to 100% and you’re good to go.
