Peter… that’s interesting… when I replaced the 15 amp fuse the bus was parked and hooked up to shore power and the cord was already out about 7-8 feet… It reeled for just a second and stopped immediately… fuse was blown again. Haven’t messed with it since.

Thinking about what you are saying I think the power cord reel is always used when the engine is running both in and out because I keep the OTR on until the power is hooked up and the A/Cs are all running then I cut it off.

So you are saying not to do that anymore? after I get it fixed that is? hmmm… interesting… I am hoping the fix isn’t too complicated.

    Cheers, Diane

we had all of our trucks governed to 63 MPH. However, drivers have nothing to do but talk on the CB all day and share information how to defeat he governor. We had several high speed accidents before we learned the drivers simply wired the dash light rheostat to the electronic governor and by simply turning up the rheostat they could turn up their governed speed. After I sold the trucking company one of our trucks rear ended a car with 7 nursing students. 5 of the students were killed. I don’t say a lot, but an 80,000 pound truck or a 50,000 pound bus driven at 75 or 80 miles per hour is being driven by a fool!

    Ray,

I also have 4024 Traces, but I’m not familiar with Vantare other than know everything goes through the inverters, unlike my Marathon. If I exceed 40+ amps on either leg, I risk an inverter shut down. In 2 1/2 years of ownership this has happened one time and it was this week. I didn’t mange my system as well as I usually do and had bulk charge going on and 2 cruiseairs causing an error in the number 1 inverter due to excessive load.

I mention this because you are seeing 60 amps on 1 leg that for sure is way over the 50 amp capacity of that leg. Hopefully someone with Vantare experience will try to help.

I tend to get a little cranky with people who suffer from stupid.

If some telephone answerer told me I could not make a reservation my probable response would be to hang up. But if I really wanted to stay there my next response would be consider me as checking in, here is my credit card information and I will allow you to bill my card whether my bus sits on the site or not.

But I admit I would have to absolutely, positively need to be at that resort on the water real bad because not taking a reservation secured by a credit card seems off the charts.

I totally agree with Jon. I towed a Featherlite stacker for years. What a PIA. Finding a place to park it in Rv parks, trying to be a contortionist tieing down cars, fuel mileage went from 5.2 to 3.5 while towing trailer, trying to crawl out of car window, and more. Was glad to sell it and tow 4 wheels down. If I really want an extra vehicle I either call Reliable Transport or Enterprise Car Rental. If you rent Enterprise be sure to book through Costco (big savings).

I have always wondered without a side door how do you exit a car put into a stacker with such little clearance on the side. Do you leave the window open and climb out like a NASCAR driver or open the door and make yourself skinny and slither out. I have always wondered. I have seen some trailers with side escape doors to make it easier to exit a car after putting it into the trailer, but a lot of trailers don’t have them. Thanks. Michael Beronja

    Davy:

Can you turn your rotary switch to Shore, start your Gen and plug your shore power cord into your Buddy plug?

Since you are able to run on shore power, that should simulate being plugged into a pedistal.

    sorry to

hear you problem with A/C, I was also in AZ with temps in 115 both of front AC when to over pressure. I talked to Troy he give an idea, run a water hose on the concert area under the unit / units that are affected, if it is due to high pressure. Worked for me. We are in Williams for the night heading to Albuquerque NM.

In regards to DirectTv I had been told by a master installer that next year they are doing a huge upgrade that will include in-motion HD and a lot of other changes in their satellites so it coud be very interesting !!

    Tim…

You aren’t kidding about all the rain we have had… everything is mildewed around here… we drove to Florida for vacation for two weeks and it rained on us most of the way but has been dry since we got back… Luckily for us our house is on a high lot with pretty good drainage… Houston was hit the hardest… really bad flooding. Now it looks like we’re in for a long hot summer… so we will be beach bound every weekend!

Tim you say you get locals when travelling…I know its the NBC CBS and ABC from NY or somewhere… I also know that years ago they required a separate account to get that also signed affidavits etc.. is that still the case?

    Cheers, Diane

    thanks for your answer

especially the front axle weight might be a concern, so my guess

My thoughts were about a conversion without slide-outs maybe, that could be easier then

You should be able to clamp off the hoses if you have to change out the valve.
