If you have drawings or instructions they would make a good article for owners affected by this to carry in our coach. I know several have been bitten by this problem, but there are likely others that will experience the problem and would benefit highly having an “instruciton sheet”.

Colt,
Congratulations, another happy Marathon H owner. I did almost the same thing fueling the first time, the fuel door almost knocked my glasses off. I really like how they did the fuel fill on the H’s, any spilled fuel goes down the drain and doesn’t end up on the outside of the bus like my XLII did.
For your garage problem, dump air to get you the few inches of clearance you need.
Here’s your Jake location as George pointed out with the “M” on the switch. 1 is high, 2 is low and off is the down position. When the Jake is activated, you’ll see a small red light in the switch come on, similiar to the high idle right next to it.

Bernie, the financial institutions we deal with here at home when it comes to value for a loan, as well as local car dealers, and one of our insurance companies we use all have one common denominator-NADA
My gripe with NADA is the Beaver Bus conversion is the only bus conversion they list. Average retail for our coach they say is $34,100. That is only $10,000 more than the same year Grand Marquis, which is a fine fiberglass Class A, but no Prevost. Their list of possible options don’t include featured components a bus conversion has, ei, residential frig, Webasto, cruise airs, or airbag leveling.
This seems to be an uphill challenge I’ll spend tine on, but I’m not in the position NADA is in, to glean market values.

Great news! I’m very happy to see that Marathon stepped up to the plate for you. Their product is terrific, and it is so important for those of us who own them to be confident that they’ll do just that. 🙂

Jerry,
Are you at Jeff’s now? Our 03 Liberty is there. New floor, sofa recovered, new chair, salon tv etc. If your there and can snap some pics that would be awesome. Jeff’s so busy I hate to bug him for them. The sofa should be in the office area. He sent me one pic of it but if you could snap a couple more that would be great.

Is it for the chassis or the house? Is it working?
While an annunciator light is nice, if the bulb is inop then the functioning of the regulator has to be verified the old fashoined way by measuring voltage with the engine running and with the engine off.

Great reporting Al. Thanks

Today I did some more tests.
1) Opened the wet tank petcock, zip tied a sandwich bag with a kleenex inside to it. Disconnected the RES line on the governor, shot 115 pounds of shop air through the line. Not a trace of anything on the kleenex or in the bag.
2) Disconnected the wet tank to governor line from the wet tank and attached a gauge to this end of the line, plummed in a valve and an air chuck on the governor end of this line. Clipped on shop air, filled the line, closed the valve, and the line held pressure (30 minute test). This says the line does not leak and is not blocked.
3) Did the same test with the same result on the governor (UNL) to air dryer line as 2) above.
I was going to just replace the two governor lines but they were suspended high up under the chassis with lots of stuff in the way of getting to all the zip ties and other suspension devices. So these tests seem to conclude that the lines are not the problem.
I believe the UNL line on the governor controls at what pressure the governor cuts out the compressor charge, and the RES line on the governor controls at what pressure the governor cuts in the compressor charge. The cut out has never been a problem. It’s always been the cut in pressure.
I have now completed all of the trouble shooting tests in the Bendix troubleshooting chart for the AD-9 air dryer using shop air. The next todo is replace the desiccant cartrage, even though there is no evidence that it is needed.

we have a customer that just sold his 2000 Featherlite non slide XLII with 130k miles for 165. I think you’re right on with your price, just need to find the right buyer

On the average trip we would quickly realize that no matter how big our coaches are, they will not be big enough to carry all the darts we will need.
They really are out to get us.

Will,
Are you talking about a female end… I am talking about a male plug that plugs into a Shore Power Post but it reels into the side of the coach into a Marinco receptical that has a screw cap like most coaches have but this is just the openning for the tube where it reels in electrically…the plug has to fit inside the closed receptical which is small… not sure we’re talking about the same thing are we?
Thanks so much for your reply.
Cheers, Diane

They are going thru the bus and doing upgrades. If someone buying has never owned a bus going with the converter can have advantages.

Be aware that there is camping inside Mesa Verde NP. I would recommend it if you are going to stay more than a couple days. We haven’t been there in 20 years, but the campground has been upgraded since then. Yes, it is a climb, and the tight switchbacks require that no one else be in the curves at the time you enter them. Was not a problem at all. Check (call) with the park to see if they have any restrictions, though. If not, it is definitely worth it, in our view: moon and starlight on clear nights is fantastic, and the mule deer will approach you and lick or eat out of your hands. We were in a 35′ FC Bluebird at the time, and as underpowered as it was, no problems.

I had one replaced due to peeling and glass replaced in the other one due to the heating element not working. Since Prevost knows of the shaking problem and can’t fix it, why not go to another vendor for the part??
