I just sold a 1997 Royale if you need help I might be able to help , Bill any air leak from the primary or secondary tanks is not good , in my Royale it would not lean , and in all three tanks it would hold air for months , if air is lost out of the two tanks that’s not acceptable in my mind , I did most of the work myself it takes time and money but not that much money to be safe , I don’t care what Prevost says is safe , no air lost out of those tanks is safe , it should hold air for months in those two tanks!!!!!!!!

Many years back we had a leaning problem which turned out to be a leaking air bag and the only cure was replacement. We found a couple of valves that needed replacing as well. Today, the bus does not lean but it still loses air in the 3 tanks pretty quickly after stopping but the bus does not lean. I am already down from 120 psi to under 100 and I only stopped about 3 hours ago. The leaks are not in the easily accessible area outside front where are the level low stuff is so I have to find some time to start chasing or live with it. Since it stays level (OK, the front air bags lose air very slowly and I usually have to pump them up again every 3-5 days) it’s pretty easy to ignore!

Peace of cake, I had to pull my headhunter this past fall. Replaced a rubber elbow ( 1420 )
that bleach eat up. Mine was all hoses with clamps. So easy a caveman can do it -

US 550 is a wonderful drive. We drive it a lot as the north end is only 30 milled from our home. We grew up in the mountains of CO. We will not drive our bus over Red Mountain. Our big concern in the summer is all the Summer visitors. We have a number of times forced to complete stop because the scared car drivers will not get out of th center of the road. Meeting al semi with a 53 ft.trailer can be a thrill. Some of the turns are so tight we have seen some with the sterer tires in the dirt and the trailer tires across the center line. To each his own choice.

I understand totally where you are coming from.
For some reason, my message keeps getting mis-construed. I’M NOT TRYING TO RACE ANYBODY!
I want reserve power to be able to pass an extremely slow moving vehicle on a fairly steep long incline if needed. I cannot do that now in my current set-up.
I know the new Volvo engine has 15 less hp than the DD diesel it replaces but has 100 lb. ft. more torque.
We are going to be getting down to the nitty-gritty real soon.

Ditto on Portal in Moab. It’s a bit wierd in thet they have a campground at the entrance and a class A RV resport at the end. Stay on the resort side. Moab is certainly beautiful with plenty in the immediate area to see, but nothing else near by. Worth the stop.

Batteries often seem to be
treated as a necessary evil by designers instead of the heart of the DC
system. Also, many people treat the purchase
of a battery like buying a commodity where quality and often performance are
assumed to be equal and thus all they need be concerned about is price and
physical size. This thinking is a
recipe for early failure and poor DC system performance.Mike
