I check this site about 2x a day and I didn’t see your post until now. Yes A-1 coupling in Tualatin will have every hose and fitting you will need. They are on the Tualatin-Sherwood hwy next to RV Outlets, on the south side of the road. There is a Chevron station and a Napa store on the corner of the entrance. Looks like you found it and they didn’t have it Surprise Surprise. They is now 4 of us in the McMinnville, Sherwood, Wilsonville and West Linn area.

Mine was doing the same thing. I looked into my SilverLeaf glass dash alarm history and discovered the alarm was raised more times than I had noticed. The rheostat is far more expensive than I would have ever guessed. Buy it from Prevost and you can save nearly $100 over what I paid at the Detroit facility in Vegas.

I’m a big time techie now. My Bose media centers hold 3600 tunes so I can play them back in shuffle mode and probably drive around the country before they start repeating. I have a built in GPS, I have one of those fancy flat screen TVs, slides, Crestron, and I can even watch Fox and Friends while driving down the highway or if I go to channel 802 on my in motion satellite I can listen to 50’s on 5 which on Direct TV is called Malt Shop Oldies.
I haven’t yet got past my flip phone, and I cannot play my 78 RPM version of “Yes We Have No Bananas”, my 8 track is missing, and I never owned an “I” anything, pad, pod or phone.
And Gil………again…..coaches are different. My coach like Tom’s has a cell antenna. Our coaches come equipped and are hard wired for cell service. I use a device called a Tellular SX5T which is a black box cell phone. It is powered by 120 VAC and has telephone jack(s). In my coach I connect a 4 telephone system so we have phones conveniently located throughout. Folks that know me know that on the rare occasions when I do carry my cell phone it is even rarer for me to actually turn it on. But they also know I ALWAYS have the bus phone on and it has an answering machine so even if we can’t answer we can get messages.
Tom’s coach was originally set up with a cell phone black box capability also.
As to the use of the cell antenna hole for wire, Tom already has the wiring in place from the KVH. He doesn’t need to run any other wire, and in fact is going to have to abandon one additional coax plus I think 4 other wires since he will only use one coax.

Just a note on tire life…in order to do a complete inspection, the tire has to be dismounted and checked inside as well as out. To do it right, the tire should be x-rayed like if it is going to be retreaded. If one is going to pay to get that done, you may as well put on the new tires at 5 or 6 years and be ahead of the game. IMHO, it is not worth trying to skimp on tires just to see how long you can go. The end result could be a lot more expensive than a new set of tires.
Same thing goes for air bags, leveling valves, norgren valves etc. Who wants to be stranded on the road with a failure of any of these items? I know I don’t.
The info that has been shared on the life of various components is priceless for newbies as well as those of us who don’t want to have issues. Those who want to take risks, go ahead, it is your bus.

In defense of KVH, they do have very capable systems. However, my KVH system is probably as old as the coach. In the marine industry KVH is well respected and they support far more than just satellite TV systems.
Since posting, DirecTV has called me twice trying to get me back–yea right! What neither caller could do is forward me to someone with the authority to waive (partially or in full) the early termination fee. Clearly, they are working for the share holders and could careless about public perception or keeping past customers. It’s this kind of nearsightedness that often leads to a company’s failure.

I have been wondering about doing the “overhead” adjustment too. It adjusts valve clearance, injector height and Jake brake. My understanding is that it should be done once around 100k and then every 250k. Truckers seem to do the “overhead” whenever fuel economy or performance takes a dive. On a truck the cost is somewhere around $400-600. On our installations it would be more given that lack of easy access.
I have 157K on the engine and it is running great, good power, low temps and brakes work well. It is noisy at low idle but they all seem to do that. I have decided to hold off. There is always a chance of a maintenance induced failure. Not worth it as long as it is running well.

Your closer than you think! To ck each batt voltage go from + to – on that batt should read about 12.6V full charge. A very small load can draw the batt down over that amount of time. To explain how you 12volt and 24 volt Prevost factory system(not converter) works. You could go to prevostcar and look under wiring diagrams for your coach. Last letter and last 4 numbers of your serial # will give you bus system pre-converter. When at high Idle your dash charging unit should read over 26-27.5 volts in your batt condition. I use a batt maintainer on chassi batteries and shut master batt switch(if yous has it) when parked for a period of time. One of the Marathon guys will chime in that knows what they may have changed over Prevost factory. Bob
