    Guys,

we are starting to firm up the plans for our extended (14 Month) trip of the US and was wondering if anyone would be comfortable providing their favorite prevost friendly parks or resorts…perhaps just your favorite 2-3 places

We are using all the books and reviews and online sources we can find but there is nothing like a recomendation from someone you trust…

We are still on the fence if we should go to Alaska in the summer of 2014 or hit the western US…. coming to the realization that covering the entire lower 48 and Alaska in 14 months is going to be a trick…

    Thanks

    Bill

Jon likes the WalMarts cause he doubles as one of there greeters from 12:00PM TO 7:00AM and gets a discount on fuel. .Rrumor has it he tried to work a deal with KMART but they were really harsh, told him he was too young!

Actually I would rather eat bees than stay overnight in a Walmart.

We prefer Saks. It’s an image thing.

But we do have some favorites. Generally speaking they are the RV parks that are relatively close to where we want to visit, which could be a favorite city or area that we enjoy spending time in. It has to have 50 amp, and has to be decent enough so we can navigate the streets and back or drive into the site without a lot of grief.

Generally if it has a lot of 26 foot white trailers with permanent additions we try to avoid it because a Prevost mixed in with “RVs” like that creates a lot of attention. We’ve stayed in enough of them over the years because we had to and occasionally end up in one if it is convenient for an overnite during a trip.

RV parks like Twin Rivers are what we like to stay in. We are not in an RV park because of the park, but because it is near where we want to be. I cannot ever remember staying in one because the RV park was the destination.

Ha ha. When we stay in a Podunk RV park with lots of white box RVs we say we “over coach” that park. We liked the Fred Henne Provincial Park campground outside Yellowknife NWT. The KOA in west Glacier Mt is bus friendly and close to the park.

Grizzly RV Park in West Yellowstone is paved and spacious. There is also a new rv park in Driggs Idaho that looks nice on the west side of the tetons

I put my coach on the Alaska Ferry in Haines, AK and rode all the way to Bellingham, WA. The trip went well. It’s a shame you can’t sleep in your coach. We really wanted to take the ferry from just outside Anchorage. Unfortunately for us, this route is so busy you have to book a season in advance.

We spend our summers in California near the coast. Weather is perfect typically in the 70’s with no rain or bugs.

    We like:

Chula Vista RV Resort, Chula Vista, CA (San Diego area)

Ocean Mesa RV Resort, Santa Barbara, CA

Carmel by the River RV Park, Carmel Valley, CA

Marin RV Park, Greenbrae, CA (San Francisco area)

Crown Villa RV Park, Bend, OR
