They were dimming fine with halogens. I will check when it is dark and the difference may be more pronounced. As I said, it makes no difference to me since we have NEVER used them on dim one time. I do want to make sure I am giving accurate information though. Thanks for the correction.

I can only speak about the lumbar air switch on my Liberty. It was leaking so the obvious fix was to replace it. The second switch did not leak initially, but the lumbar supports would deflate after a while so I had to continually keep pressing the switch to re-inflate the support. After a while the switch was back to leaking so I just gave up and capped the lines.
An electric lumbar support is the answer. I have that on several of my cars and it is always in the right position and I never have to re-adjust it.

from the factory that was solid. converter or somebody gaining access to that area has cut it out and replaced with removable panels. If you have cruise Air or something else in spare tire compartment that might be reason. With that panel out you can get to the front end of all the air lines ,power steering hoses ,coolant lines ,electrical cables, everything else from front to back. That area was two layers of plywood from factory. You could take it up and put a support piece up from bottom is soft area or ck the material they used and go back with thick oak boards instead of plywood since your going to floor over it for finished product. I can do that because I had the same leak. It was in the air switches that control the lumbar support. As it turns out fixing it only was a temporary thing and I ended up plugging the air lines to that switch.
Same thing on the current coach, but it has the solenoids in place and the seat is on the Prevost side of the aux air system.

I take Carolyn to the Lazydays Cracker Barrel for lima beans every Saturday, so we’ll be there. Also, I now park “The Bus” next to George, so maybe we’ll caravan the 40 miles up I-75.

I am all to fimilar with the stopping distance of an RV on 100+ degree day after running down IH10 for 6+ hours and then have a youngster pull in front of you in the left lane and then shortly after slam on their brakes and come to a stop on the Interstate just because they saw brake lights ahead when they turned around from yaking at someone in the back seat. Needless to say, I own a new Lexus SUV that I have never seen other than when it climbed up my windsheild. They are lucky they are still all alive, just plain stupid.

Thanks Jon…..I wanted to go “armed” with something for them to begin with.

I will start with the assumption the problem is not related to the air bags or Norgrens. More on that in a bit.
You have push in fittings for the air system on your vintage coach. The air bag fittings are large, 1/2 pipe to 5/8 tube if i am correct. Start looking for the leak there. If they are leak free which I doubt lok at the ones on the Norgren valves. Concentrate on the RH side from the 5 port through the drive and then tag axle air bags. Look at the 3 port valve on the frame between the tag and drive. It is probable the problem is within that area.
Don’t rule out a defective air bag or Norgren. The probability of one of those being the issue is remote, but possible.

When I towed my former Dodge Ram I used a battery disconnect switch. Never an issue with a drained battery. I’m with Jack on this one.

Glad to see you two here!
You are really going to enjoy these folks. They have made us feel welcome from the first day. The forum may not be geared to Newell’s but the information will still be helpful.
Thanks for joining us!

Jon,
When we loose shore power… the AC keep right on working we never have any interuption of them… so what we have been doing successfully on this trip so far is to limit all loads why we are away from the coach to pretty much just the roof airs for the pup…
I guess my hope is once I get the AutoGen working correctly is that if we left for the day we would turn auto gen on so that if something happened resulting in the loss of shore power auto gen would kick in before the invertors depleted the batteries… I am going to be doing some additional training at Marathon in Tampa in a few weeks and understanding all this is top on the list… If I understand correctly our inverters are programed to cut out at a preset min voltage. Does that sound right? So if the inverter is setup correctly it should be difficult to damage the batteries?

John,
I was stationed at Fort Polk many years ago. My wife and I lived in Leesville. The area around Fort Polk was quite desolate at the time we were there but things may have changed by now. There is a RV park in Sulfur, LA, that is listed in the BIG RIGS RV GUIDE that may be fairly nice. The name of the place is A-Plus Motel and RV Park, http://www.a-plusrvpark.com. The only problem is that you would have a 70 – 75 mile drive to Fort Polk. Another possibility might be Hidden Treasure RV Resort, http://www.hiddentreasurerv.com, located in or near Leesville. Also, you might check with your son to see if there are camping facilities on Post and if so are they available for civilian use. Hope this helps.
