To tow our coaches pull the axles (a few minute job unless someone glued them in place) or drop the drive shaft.
I did an axle removal demonstration years ago at an RV park in Santa Fe and I think from start until the axle removal it was in the 10 minute range.

I can tell you from experience take it to ETLC, I wanted mine replaced took it to a very large and so called experienced place and after the third day of them measuring and calling the Mfg I left and scheduled a visit with Jeff. Only thing I would suggest is that after the install make sure to check for new leaks in you roof because of the amount of traffic that is required that could break some of the chalking on you roof. I drive from Texas to Jeff, for a lot of reasons.

Royal made it easier than most, to get to top of the engine, I did my own, open it up in Roswell NM. Replaced return fuel line half hour job to get down to the engine

Got the Samlex 2425 installed above the chassis batteries. An easy procedure. Since Royale put a 15 amp 230 volt circuit/outlet in the bay behind right tag (to power an outdoor Gageneau), I used that to power the Samlex. This unit is probably overkill for the application, but it had the features I wanted: 115 or 230 VAC input and 3 or 2 stage charging.

Thats an interesting idea. The problem as i see it is that most septic and dosing tanks that i have see are only 2- 2 1/2 inches thick. Probably partially to keep the weight down for lifting and setting. It would be difficult to tie the floor slab into that i think. They do make fiberglass pits that are drop in but i think those are made for the race car guys. I wouldnt park a bus over one.

Carefully, very carefully. There is a significant amount of energy stored in the struts and if you don’t account for that as you do the swap you could lose an eye or be seriously injured.
I have the same project facing me in the spring (or mid summer if it takes the snow that long to melt). I plan on propping the bay doors wide open at both ends with 2x4s to carry the weight (mine have chairs on the back and I will remove the chairs. Once propped wide open, you should be able to carefully remove the old struts and install the new ones. At least that is my plan.

My Whirlpool side by side was still working but old refers suck the juice, the guy from Lifeline said the new refers are a lot more efficient then the old ones, And I wanted to upgrade, I bought the 5 year warranty parts-labor- service call so if something happens the come to us.

I haven’t hear AIG mentioned. I rolled up personal, business and the coach in an AIG policy with good results. The only carrier that would take a fleet policy on autos, property coverages for all risks including wind damage, fire, etc in addition to umbrella liability on all real estate I own including the bus barn. Includes my home and commercial real estate owned in LLC’s.
Find an Underwriter that represents AIG and may be worth your while. Can’t stress the importance of a liability umbrella policy and uninsured motorist coverage as with no or under insured drivers out there, you need coverages to protect fixing your bus when you are not at fault and they don’t have adequate coverage. Not to mention proper liability coverage if something goes really wrong and basic liability is not enough.
AIG has a specialized group that understands, yachts, planes and high end buses so I am confident I ended up in the right place. I am told they like Prevost owners and understand differences between lessor quality fiberglass coaches.

The bridge is really something to see. We go to Las Vegas 2 or 3 times a year mainly staying at the Las Vegas Motorcoach Resort (going in a coach for over 10 yrs. now). We were in LV a few weeks ago but we stayed at the Bellagio.
We watch them build the bridge, they started each side at the same time and met in the middle. That was sure some major engineering!
In a car, you can’t see over the bridge because the wall/rail is high, in the coach, you should be able to see over.

There is no operating window in an “H” door, so that would not work so well for those. Same thing with the toll window in an “H”. If the converter did not put a switch in to open the toll window, you are also screwed. Liberty did put one in for those who were wondering. Some other way would have to be devised to get the door open in the case of an “H”

Thanks Doug, but I don’t think I have the financial wherewithal to fund such a project. Now, the notion was floated by another PC member of selling some of Judy’s shoes to fund the upgrade. We ALL know that ain’t happenin’!

Marathon is going to do the update, 12000 out the door. No point in even considering another Small PC, I would have that much or more in the computer and programming by Marathon. They download my coach data and then install in the Rasberry. I really like the Techlink with the various screens and being displayed on any of the TV’s.
