    All,

I’ve been lurking on the Prevost forums for the last few months as we’ve suffered through literally years of serial repair shop/factory visits on 3 brand new class A diesel pushers. As a result of our research and your knowledge we are now under contract for a CPO 2009 Liberty H3, from Liberty. We’ve spent quality time with Frank and his team and the customer experience thus far has been EPIC. The PDI they are performing seems to leave nothing to question. (New tires, batteries, fluids, belts, cosmetic issues…). I’ve downloaded a pdi checklist from one of the forums and what they are doing more than covers it. And they do it without having to be asked or told. I saw the posts on the waste tank and that will get checked. Is there any other advise you folks can provide, pdi, ramp up, fiberglass coach owner therapy?

I would also love to hear from folks that have bought CPO Liberty before and your experience and suggestions.

    Thanks in advance,

    -jeff

I say be careful.. because I did what you are doing and I liked the experience so much that one year later I was back ordering a brand new one from them.-:)

The folks at Liberty are great and I can’t say enough good things about them. You are going to love owning a Liberty. I can’t tell you how many “noobie” questions I had in my first year or so, and they were always there for me.

I am stickler for great customer service and they are 100% ok in my book!

    Enjoy it!

    Jeff,

Congratulations. History has shown that it will likely take several months to remove the grin.

As you describe the process you are getting a coach that has been zeroed out with respect to fluids, filters, etc. Use that starting point for your maintenance program and document what has been done from that point on, and use that record to schedule future maintenance events. If you keep up with maintenance you will have a very enjoyable coach.

The tank topic has been beaten to death, but keep in mind that because it is not a problem today that does not mean it is going to be OK tomorrow. Be vigilant.

All of our coaches are subject to the ravages of age. While there is no hard and fast rule about the life of certain components keep in mind that age does have an impact on components that are rubber or rely on rubber to function. Among the items affected are air bags, brake chambers, and Norgren valves for example. If and when you see clues they are starting to show their age, have a plan to address those issues.

Hope to see you at rallies.

Congrats Jeff. You’re now experiencing the difference between fiberglass production coaches and a Prevost Conversion, there really is no comparison. You’ll love your Liberty.

Likewise, a great experience as we are on our second Liberty coach in 5 years. This was our first coach of any kind which drove me to Liberty since we knew nothing. A lot of hand holding and patience on their part but we were able to adapt and digest all the complexities of coach ownership…. welcome to PC the absolutely best resource available on the planet!!!! Can’t stress how important this site has been to us and the thousands that participate!!!!!

    safe travels!!!

    Congrats on the new Liberty!

I have noticed in the last year or so Liberty has adopted the CPO term for their coaches inside 10 years old. I dont know that the term “CPO” they are using could make me feel any better about buying a coach from them!

We purchased our coach from them WAY outside the CPO range and took delivery on it after they worked their magic. Everything was perfect. Everything looked like it was new. All the PDI work had been completed. And everything worked the way it should when it was new. I was invited to stay as long as I liked to get comfortable with the coach and was offered cell phone numbers to every last person that worked there in case a question arose.

Bottom line, good call on buying a Liberty from Liberty; we sure could not have been happier and would do it all over again in a minute.

As for the holding tank, keep it washed out after use and take care of it. I would think you will get a long and usefull life out of one that has been cared for. I am still running the original aluminum tank on ours. Yes, if it does become compromised in the future, I will swap it with a SS tank. Until then, enjoy!

P.S. The Liberty Rallies alone are worth the purchase!

That sounds a lot more sophisticated than “used”.

Thanks Doug, but I don’t think I have the financial wherewithal to fund such a project. Now, the notion was floated by another PC member of selling some of Judy’s shoes to fund the upgrade. We ALL know that ain’t happenin’!
