Larrry ,
Here is location of the AUX check valve. Available from Grainger.
Part number 6D914….. 1/4 male NPT X 1/4 male NPT. Carry a spare as this is the number one leak in AUX system.
Heat relieving regulator part number is… SMC AR20-N01H-Z Available from SMC dealer here in KC.
Eagle Fluid Power KC,MO

Ask for Brian or Todd. I spoke to Brian today to verify the SMC number.
Use your credit card and ship direct to you. They are very helpful with reasonable prices.
You can also get the push fittings from them. The hose should be 3/8 inch. Send them a picture of the set up.
Their main business is custom manufacture / assembly of air and fluid components.
AL
….before you open the system you could unscrew the intake air cleaner which is pictured at 3 o’clock position. Put a fitting in, attach a balloon, secure with rubber band. If the check valve leaks the balloon will inflate overnight. Of course if you have an electronic leak detector that reading will ring the alarm.
MAKE SURE YOU DISABLE THE AUX COMPRESSOR WHILE DOING THIS TEST

We tow a 2015 Tahoe LTZ with two speed transfer case, it tows very nicely, but yes you must disconnecct the battery, and a set of instructions that you must follow in the right order… It’s a pain, but you get used to it. Up to this point, it has not lost any memory settings due to the battery disconnect, GM may have addressed that issue somehow.

Haven’t seen one of those GC (General ???) contact files for a looooong time. Used to be one in my shirt pocket back in the vacuum tube organ days! Sure brings back some memories. Tnx.
And glad you got your problem fixed.

I took the bad one apart, filed/cleaned the contacts, reinstalled it but didn’t fix it. It appears the little electro magnet isn’t strong enough anymore to hold the contacts together.
If I had fixed it I was gonna keep it for a spare.

Jeff, there’s a guy out in Oregon, I think, that salvages Prevosts. He has NOS locks for XLs for $125. This is just for the square mechanism. It does not include the lock cylinder. On most I have seen, the square part is what breaks. Mine had been rewelded several times. Finally went in search of a replacement.
If you don’t have it, I’ll see if I can find contact info for the guy. BTW, I was told that if Prevost did have the part, it was $600.

Tom,
Try rebooting the coach.

Behind dash right of steering wheel. Not gauge area but next pannel over. attached to a alum plate(must be grounded) I think you can get to from bottom. Another place to look is front steering compartment behind headlights. Like I said from memory any not sure which place. I do remember loosing ground to base plate causing low voltage to turn signals. A alligator clips and a piece of wire can make a good diagonistic test to ck grounds.

In researching for systems to remove moisture entering the system from the aux compressor I ran across this:
This appears to be a more effective way to remove moisture, but will require desiccant removal in addition to water draining. The good news is it will keep the aux system dry.
If Jeff is reading this perhaps he can create a kit that he can install to protect coaches.

Got a surprising phone call from Tom the Allison fluids engineer who went over my sample with me last night. Learned a lot about the Allison and Transynd. As I suspected the sample indicated a fair bit of motor oil still in the fluid from the 2011 switch to Transynd.
Anyways, for you guys out there like me, I would make sure you do a couple changes to get the old motor oil out and make sure your trans is running 100% transynd. He told me even though the spec is 150k miles you can often times go quite a bit longer with it, just sample it maybe once a year. When they tested it they ran it in garbage trucks and left it in for years with lots of abuse and the fluid was still good.

An awful lot of Bruce coaches were sold un-finished. It probably fits the definition of an orphan more than the coaches that are commonly referred to as such, plus the converter was(is) in Canada. They are usually priced well below market, so if you can “steal” one and you have some ability on the converter side of things or somebody to figure out how they did things, it might be okay. It’s still a Prevost. Geo.

The failure on my Centramatics was the balancing media was not flowing.
I would bet almost anything that type of failure would go unnoticed unless the tire in question was hopping all over the place. I thought I felt something but it was so slight I attributed it to my lack of experience with the coach, my current one.
Thank goodness I do my own work and I tend to be nosy. Not long after I had the coach I wanted to look very carefully at my Knorr-Bremse brakes which were different than any I had previously. I wanted to look things over pretty good more out of curiosity than anything so I had the coach on stands and I pulled all the wheels. That was when I discovered I had Centramatics. I never had them previously so I was surprised. I began putting things back together and as I did I was rotating my Centramatics listening to the balance media make a noise as it rolled around inside them. One of them did not make any noise. No matter what I did I could not get the media to move around so when I talked to Centramatic they understood there was a problem and shipped me replacements.
I guarantee no tire changer or mechanic would have caught that. I would not have caught that if I had known about them previously and I would have just put them back on the bus assuming they were OK. Now if I pull a wheel I take 5 seconds to listen to the media flow inside the outer ring.
What I think happened is the media is installed inside the outer ring on the Centramatic discs, Then the ring which is rolled is sealed so the inside of the ring and the media remains dry forever. If the seal fails or is compromised and any moisture can get inside the ring, the media clogs up and does not flow freely to balance the wheel.

So Tom came over to my coach and didn’t wash it? I’m next door to M and C.
Well that makes sense. Country Coach owners are a pretty trouble free group.

Jon,
When I was looking for a tank to replace our rusty one the pancake tank from Grainger was what was in the bus
Same specs but not rated DOT. The one in service 14 years on the bus installed by Marathon was not rated DOT.
New check valve installed which I forgot to mention was a 400 degree rated Viton seal from Valve Check, Inc.
St.Paul Minn. Triple the price of one available from Grainger.
Tom,
It appears our set up is differant then yours. I do not share the Prevost air system with AUX leaving that valve closed.
My project today is to polish all the brass fittings before reinstalling compressor. It’s a Marathon thing.
