You may want to see if it has a steering wheel lock or not. If it does, you may have to play around disconnecting the battery when you want to tow. There could also be other things that you have to do as well.
GM put a lock in the new Tahoes and Yukons that added some issues when towing those, and made disconnecting the battery one of the steps necessary to tow them.

We have friends that tow a 2014 SRX with no problems at all… In fact they love it… I like them too.

Does anyone know on the new tahoes, do you still have to disconnect the battery cable if you run a trickle charge off the bus to the battery?

It isn’t that the battery goes dead on the Tahoe. The negative cable must be unhooked during the process of getting it ready to tow to keep that lock from engaging. I does work, but you have to complete some extra steps that would not have to be done if GM hadn’t had a brain fart when designing the 2015’s. You must also must re-do all the settings you have programmed unless you get one of those little 9v battery devices that plug into the lighter socket.
Larry and Diane tow a Tahoe and can tell you the exact steps to take. It is also spelled out in the owner’s manual fairly well, with the exception of the 9v battery thing.

Get an old car. No steering wheel locks, manual transmission that you put in neutral, and the AM radio presets are all manual.

Purchased a 2012 and changed to a Blue ox bar. Towes without problems. FYI – 2012 and newer does not need to have fuses pulled. With the car off depress a button in the shift mechanism and slide into N. No milage showes on the odometer when towed and no problems with the steer lock. Happy Camper!

We tow a 2015 Tahoe LTZ with two speed transfer case, it tows very nicely, but yes you must disconnecct the battery, and a set of instructions that you must follow in the right order… It’s a pain, but you get used to it. Up to this point, it has not lost any memory settings due to the battery disconnect, GM may have addressed that issue somehow.

We tow a 2015 Suburban LTZ without a problem after learning the tricks of the trade !!
We installed a battery disconnect switch which simplifies the setup. I also have a 9 Volt battery with a short cable that plugs into the cigarette lighter and saves ALL your radio Navigation settings etc. (most dealerships use these on vehicles when they have to disconnect batteries as it saves all the settings)… very simple you just plug it in and leave it before you disconnect the battery. It has worked every time and I’m still on the first battery after hours and hours of travel.
The key to success is the sequence of following the steps perfectly… if you forget a step it just won’t work.
We finally have it down pat !!

Well my iphone says it was delivered to that number, go figure.
So here is the message, My 2015 SRX tows fine by turning the engine off, pressing the shift release button and moving the shifter to neutral. Nothing else needs to be done. No miles added to speedo, no battery run down, just go.
In 207, the change from SRX to XT5 included a change from 6 speed to 8 speed tranny. No towing with the 8 speed, darn.
Sure do like towing the SRX and Carolyn enjoys it as her daily driver.

Rudy, thanks. But I have an ’11 and I guess you have to pull some fuses instead of the button by the shifter. That’s why I’m reaching out to people that have a ’10 or ’11. Geo
