Bruce coach
I am new to the board I am looking at a 2002 Bruce conversion. Is anyone familiar with Bruce. I would appreciate any advice.

If Will and Antoinette read the site I would hope they jump in. I think they have one and Will has gained a lot of knowledge about the conversion. As I remember it the coach electrical system was unlike almost all others.

An awful lot of Bruce coaches were sold un-finished. It probably fits the definition of an orphan more than the coaches that are commonly referred to as such, plus the converter was(is) in Canada. They are usually priced well below market, so if you can “steal” one and you have some ability on the converter side of things or somebody to figure out how they did things, it might be okay. It’s still a Prevost. Geo.

I don’t remember the details because it has been so long but when the Bruce coach was described to me I was totally lost when trying to understand the logic of the system. All I remember is that it was not set up like almost all the conversions that are most common.
I do remember the quality of the interior work was excellent.

should this crazy electrical system worry me? Shoulld I look for a different conversion

If Will sees this and pipes up it would be great as he has had his a while and I beleive he finished a lot of it or had someone do it. Will ? Steve Bennet is also a good idea and he is honest and straightforward. Geo.

Just read about the “Bruce Converters” on their web-site. Not a lot of information there, but it sounds like a forum member, Will, has a Bruce conversion. Can anyone (or Will) compare a Bruce conversion to those still Converters still in business in the U.S. (Liberty, Marathon, Featherlite?)

There was a Bruce coach for sale last year (it may still be, I have not looked for it lately) that was a 2006 or 2007 chassis they titled as a 2012 if I remember correctly. I was told that it was one of the last shells that Legendary had when they shut down. It went to Canada and Bruce finished it off. It had lots of the same things that Legendary had, but they also did some things differently. The cabinet fit and finish looked very nice.
I can not compare it to Liberty or Marathon since I have not seen it. I have also not seen any of the older Bruce products, so I can’t help you there either. Maybe someone who has will be able to give you more info.

Cannot speak for his conversions………..but
My dealings with bruce himself were NOT good……..#1…….he reccommended a coach which I eventually bought.
Claimed he did maintenance on it since almost day one(I wouldn’t make that claim if I were him…many items just plain don’t work!! eg: one inverter is shot/ microwave is shot/ nose plastic cover is terrible/ covered it with a bra/ there are pounds(I said pounds) of moss growing between the roof and awning covers??.
DOT tire dates were not correct…….good thing they ain’t important, eh?
Phone call……….he said it was a fine coach, ready to go. Was?……go where?
Plain and simple………he lied completely to me/ and I bought it………………
$20k later I may get er close to zero……….I’m an optimistic! It will get done!
BTW……..good news………it is still a Prevost/ and….perfect or not, it’s mine!

You must have known Bruce well to take his word and give him money without looking. I am sorry that you had a bad dealing is this the same conversion co from Canada.
