  • New Tile Floor

Posted by Bill on May 25, 2015 at 8:53 am

This is the second try at uploading a picture of our new tile floor. installed by Tradewinds Coach and Marine, Deland Fl. We are very pleased with the installation. It made the coach seem a lot wider and brighter.

Good looking floor Bill. Is that Tile or Wood?

Your floor looks great! I had hardwood installed in my coach. Had I known how good the hardwood look tile looks I would have definitely gone that direction. In my case hardwood has been a PIA. Our 25# dog has left scratches all over it. The power went off and the gen auto start was off. Ice melted and the water sat on an area of the floor for several days. Floor is glued down with floor heat. Almost impossible to change out a few planks because of this. Therefore we are having those areas refinished. Had we installed ceramic none of this would have been a problem.

From my my personal experience I would highly recommend anyone considering hardwood to look closely at the hardwood tile instead. If you are looking for a stress free experience your choice will be clear.

It is tile and was purchased at Lowes. It is not slippery and the dog doesn’t seem to have a problem. It is very easy to keep clean vs. the carpet.

Although, I am partial to wooden floors of which we have plenty, i.e. teak.

One thing that interests me is, though, what kind of grout do you use?

There must be some minute flexing in our floors and I can not imagine that you use the good old grout that you mix with water.

So what is it? Colored Silicone?

    Cheers,

    Ronald
