Karl, thank you for the explanation. I will have to upgrade my flip phone to an iphone when the new bus arrives. I’m behind the curve. I used to be up on all this stuff years ago but lost interest. I will get back on the program as I want to control and monitor the bus from my phone when in storage or away from it.
Again, thanks, I may have to keep you on PC speed dial!

Ok, so coincidence that it shut off as I pulled out, unless the slope moved the fuel enough. I get it.
But still, 200+ miles of fuel left on dead empty? 50, maybe even 100, I understand.

Sounds like an incredible adventure and an incredible coach. Thanks for sharing.

Our Dakota has an MG air brake system, unnecessary except a lot of mountain downgrades.

The only time I’ve had trouble with my 115v water heating, it was because the temperature limiting switch had tripped. It is designed to keep water temps in the heater below ??? and will shut off the heater when temps exceed that level, presumably due to a bad water heater thermostat. However, if your water is also heated by an engine loop, those temps could trip your switch. On my heater, the switch was a red button located behind a screwed on access panel on the water heater itself. If it is tripped, you should probably locate an existing valve in your engine to water heater cooling loop and close slightly to reduce circulation.

Shouldn’t have any issues getting into 233. That site was just purchased in March and the new owner is re-doing it in January. Have them take you back in the golf cart at the front desk to take a look. I think 222 has a really large gazebo on the site and new wide concrete.
You can still go straight down the middle and make a right at the oceanfront sites. Make another right I believe on a side road and be able to back pretty much straight in. You’ll see why I like my site…sraight up and straight back in……I’ll be curious to know if they have started working on the RV roads yet? They’re supposed to be done when I get back in December. Summer is high season for the campground so they may not start till October. The pool and hot tub by the beach are “adults” only and a nice addition to the park last year.
Have fun and if you need your coach cleaned while your there call adam…they have his number at the front desk. Tell him Jim from #230 said to give you a discount….LOL
Sunset Grille on A1A beach blvd to the north is nice and Southbeach grille 3 miles south is on the beach and has great chowder. If your heading into old town (over the lions bridge) O.C. Whites has nice seafood with outdoor seating overlooking the harbor…..

Tom hasn’t painted his engines. He trades so often the paint wouldn’t dry.

Paul,
If you have concerns about a coach the worst purchase will be through a private sale. You have no recourse unless you somehow can be assured the seller will stand behind the coach. Easier said than done.
Buying from the converter or a well established dealer is clearly your best bet if you want a coach that has had a comprehensive inspection, needed repairs, and some form of support and warranty. That is all negotiable of course, but with professionals they are in the best position to address any concerns.
I am not sugesting you can feel so comfortable you can buy a coach without any inspection, so you still need to make yourself comfortable with the condition of the coach. I have used comments gathered from various forums as a guide to things I need to look at along with doing all the things I would do on a typical routine inspection. I am sure both Marathon and Pantera will work with you to help with your inspection and will address any concerns you might have.
The burden on you is to make sure before you drive away that you are satisfied with the coach and its condition, that you have been trained on the coach and its operation, and that you and the seller have a clear understanding of who is responsible for any problems or issues that might arise as you are leaving.
Both Marathon and Pantera are well respected.

Dale you mentioned that you don’t have a multimeter, you need to get one and learn how to use it, even if it only the check voltage and curcuit continuity.
You maybe trying to get to much out of your batteries, I doubt that your bus came out of the converter set like that. I would measure the space you have for batteries and talk to Tom about getting a new set of batteries. Most likely you had 4 d4’s or d8’s. Then I would check if you have votlage coming out of the inverters capable charging the batts. If you don’t have an inverter manual to a internet search for it. My 1992 bus came of the lot with converters to supply 12 power and a separate charger to charge the batteries, since been changed to inverters). You may have the same set up. So look at names on boxes and do internet search on them to see what they are. Also look for switch that maybe have been disconnected.
On the old vanner jump you batteries to the terminals and check to see it you get the 12, 24 volts out of it, if you don’t it is junk and can be removed or it needs to be replaced. I do not think one inverter works for both the engine and the house batteries. So the Vulcun may have put a second one in for the house batteries as someone told you to run off the alternate alternator, but you still need one for the engine batts.
40v WoW, Check the voltage coming off the big terminal on the second alternator.
As Jon said with fresh batteries you inbalance light will go out but if your vanner is not working it will be coming back on down the road very soon.
You can see why you need to get a digital multimeter? it anwers a lot of question for you.

We bought a H from Panterra earlier this year. Havent had the bus on a trip yet. Pre-Inspection, Purchase, very pleasent experience. Randy, Joyce and Rex are all good to work with and keep their word.

It has to be rented thru the resort……you can request specific sites. My email is jtmaceri@charter.net if anyone has any questions. Very pet friendly park, you can take dogs on the beach and you can drive on the beach. We love this place and have been going to the same park for 12 years….lucky enough to buy an oceanfront last year.

Since I am computer and smart phone challenged tell me how this site would benefit from changes, and what difference it would make in user convenience.
Tom has all the latest and greatest devices and I have watched him do anything he wants, not only on the forum, but even on the administrative side of our site. Yet he has never mentioned tapatalk, nor has our web guy.
Convince me. Make the justification compelling because if you can convince me I have to sell it to our computer guy who takes care of us.

The second check valve located on top of reserve tank. With the Marathon air operated sewer hose / electric cord drop door beneath the water bay on drivers side.
Marathon has another reserve air tank behind the hot water heaters. A direct line runs from green tank too this hidden tank.
I don’t recall but this hose has it’s own color to ID this feed. Marathon owners can watch the pressure gauge drop quickly when operating the drop door or the sewer hose. With the addition of this 2 ad tank and a knife valve both work smooth. The second tank makes this happen.
Marathon cut in pressure is suggested at 80-85 psi to start AUX compressor.
You can see an additional check valve coming off silver valve. This was added by me for leak down line test to second air tank set up. It did leak finding a SMC manifold valve leaking on top of second tank.

I ran across this article and it maybe of help if the info is current.
Bill…At one time a few years ago I had the privilege of going through what to me was a junk yard for older (pre 1994) Beavers. They purchased much of Beaver’s bankruptcy items and stored it in their back yard. This family is located in Redmond, OR. They have or had Beaver parts for 1983 – 1995 coaches. They did have at that time one complete and new Command Center they would sell for $50000. The phone number I have is for Wini Whitaker. 541-548-4345. I’m not sure if this number is still active but the family operates an auto parts store in Redmond.
Another person who could be of some help would be Mike Flowerday (541-410-5555). Don’t know if this number is still active. Some of the former Beaver assemblers, painters, or wood workers might also be of some assistance. If you look in the back of the Beaver Tales for a listing of BAC supporters you may want to check them out; Coach Masters, Greg Fulton, Advantage RV, and BCS. Good luck on this one. Mike Flowerday may also know how to repair some parts of the Module..Mandy Canales90 Beaver Marquis
