Beaver Bus
Jim Coloradobus You seem to keep up on the beaver conversons and have noted that there are a couple that
their where abouts are unknown. Do you know anyone that owns one in northern Vermont
near St Johnsbury? I saw the bus last weekend. Stopped by to see if anyone was around to
talk to but didn’t catch anyone. It is a beaver but I didn’t see the Prevost name anywhere. Looks
like an late 80s bus. We’ll be back to the area in early April. Where is the conversion number on the

The Bus number is found on the outside backs of drawers, or other out of site areas Most al, if they haven’t been replaced have etched side windows with a border and beaver logo. Likewise, external mirrors have Beaver logo, and so do horn covers, as well as the Beaver side profile logo on front and rear of bus
wow another possible Beaver. Whoo hoo. No, we haven’t heard any in New England. Bus 29 was in Maryland, and it’s owner was to g full time. I haven’t talk ed to joe I recently

Bus 1. Consigned at Legacy last year, sold to Michigan
Bus 2. Saw it for sale on internet last month, no info, it still had 24 v headlights, bus 1,3,4 were converted or came with single headlights
Bus 3. Left in Las Vegas, owner live in Honolulu
Bus 4. Sold last fal, went from Tucson to Prescott
Bus 6. Lives Dripping Springs, Tx
Bus 7 we think is dead-Carfax show last licensed in 1997
Bus 8 lives in Oregon
Bus 9 live in Sacremento Ca
Bus 10 lives in Woodland Wa with second owner since 4-1994 1st owner was Ernret Borgnine. Ernie bought a1994 Country Coach

Bus 20. Missouri -used in owners business as the transport for technicians

Bus 31, or 32-only one vin number- long story-neither identified to be labeled 31 or 32, not both. One of shell orders canceled, numbe count not change

Bus 34 is ours, numerically the last one, Bus 33 was last incline completed
So, there you know the count, and it continued.
Treedoc, if you see it again, look for vin on defroster vent louvre. I can then, compare to list since Beaver converted them pretty much in order of shell production. There were standardized floor plans, but most were special order, and priced in realm of half million dollars between 1990-to-End of 1992 Total conversion run, 33 busses, all 40 ft XL with 8V-92DDECs. Beaver Coach, Bend Oregon, created no other busses earlier, but two XLIIs showed up at 2002 balloon festival, but wer rebadged Royales later.

We had Beaver convert us a Prevost in 1985 we paid for the shell fwiw we later found out Marathon did the conversion with the Beaver interior and badge we always had to take it back to Marathon for work,a old guy in Texas has it now or did have it we traded it in on a 1997 Vogue at Pryor OK they may have done more than one I heard they did -
hmm, I have heard this once before. However, no one at Beaver Coach sales, which is what Beaver Coach has become can confirm or deny if buses were converted earlier than 1989. Interesting, tho.
Luvrbus, do you have any photos that show the Beaver Logo on you bus from 1985 and /or a VIN number. All of my information is based on the 33 shell numbers Bill Jensen lent me,, as well Iris Schmidt, who was, and is, the (BAC) Beaver Ambassador Club membership chair since 1990. She had some warranty claim invoices with names. Also, john Olivera, former Beaver Coach President at the time the busses were converted. It was his program. Ty Kelly, at Beaver Coach sales, who helped me in contacting former Beaver employees, as well as Mr. Hoag, one of Beaver’s original owners. Matter of fact those here who know Ken Robertson at Parliament Coach, was on the line when our coach was ordered and built for John and Joyce Barnard of Ft Worth Tx. I was able to talk to Mr Barnard before he died shortly after we bought our coach in Sept 2009. I also located and spoke to our coach’s second owner. We are the third. Phil Cooper has resold many of the Beaver Busss over the years, he was a good resource, too. Also, the brother of former W. Virginia governor, now senator of W Virginia Joe Manchin was helpful, too. And the list of people who have helped me over the past 5 years is long.

I don’t know they done one for us and Carole King the singer had a Beaver Prevost before the 90’s I saw it many times in Idaho as we have land just past her place one thing if Foretravel tried something Beaver was going too also? where do guys buy the overhead control center when they go bad there was a Beaver for sale a couple of a years ago a friend was looking at that needed one and we couldn’t find one there was supposed to be a guy in Houston but we never could get in touch with him

I cannot make the edit work here the guy that I dealt with was Mat Perlot at the time, he left Beaver and started Safari then bought Beaver
Mat passed away in late 2012 his son Martin which owns SilverLeaf should have all the records for Beaver, Mat had all the records I would get build records for people that owned Beavers from time to time from him fwiw

Jim, really interesting read. Thank you, for taking the time putting that on PC. One quick question is it possible to get a few pictures of exterior shells.
As we travel being in the right place at the right time… I always take time to walk around RV parks and just look at what’s parked. Many of the older parks have back parking lots where buses, RV’s, trailers and “what ever” gets left.
That’s where some real treasurers or examples of using milk crates are found. Last year in Pheonix area I drive around a corner in an older RVpark and spot this ;

Is that a Marathon custom sat dish support?

That is the “Super Duper Ventilated Mounting Hardware” option. Increases satellite signal strength etc. I heard that it was highly weather resistant too…a good Marathon option!

Anybody know what ever became of the Beaver Solitare? I saw one at a Safari/Beaver rally in Orlando, Fl many years ago.

5 years, it is hard to believe that you have had your coach that long now.

Truk that sattellite dish was so fast it had to have an air cooled stand off. I believe they were so hot you were only able to get custom installation. I think I remember the distributor on that product and it was next to the Tillamook Cheese factory in Oregon.

ya Greg, the first rally we took Bus 34 to was OKC 2009 when we first met you, along with Jack and Thelma with Bus 21. I talked to Jack over a year ago, ashe was leaving #21 at Marathon Dallas on consignment. Mel Teafatiller of Eldorado RV n Marine later had Bus 21, sold it. It was at that time I lost track of of it.
