New Build of a 2015 Liberty Coach Elegant Lady
Well, today was the day we started picking out the interior and working on the exterior paint job. This coach is going to be beautiful! The paint designs that Liberty Coach uses are leading edge…. different than any other manufacturer.
We decided to go with a ‘low key’ interior, matte finish with walnut cabinets with two different design woods. Earthy colors for the interior (rust and cream fabrics and a nice medium brown leather for the sofa’s and a darker redish brown for the ottomans). The two captain chairs will be solid brown like the sofa’s but with a dark brown stitching. The designer knows her stuff!

Mr. Mark: Where does all this happen? In Florida or in North Chicago? Keep us up to date on your progress. You made a great buy decision.

All of the design work is done in North Chicago. Delivery will take place in Florida mid October (earlier than I thought). Tomorrow, we pick out back-splash, knobs and the shower marble.
There is never ‘one’ coach that is the perfect coach, all are beautiful! I will always like 5 or 6 coaches of different colors and designs. But, you have to pick ONE to take home!

Picking out the cabinets was one of the hardest things to do. I honestly thought we would go with the high gloss as I like the upscale look. Since the under counter lighting is right there next to the wood it is so reflective. There are SO many lights in these coaches!
We thought the matte finish would offer a warmer look with a softer glow. The cabinet doors will have a zebra type design whereas the rest of the cabinets will be a solid walnut. We chose under the counter sinks vs. the vessel type.
We will have two air operated doors, one between the kitchen and bedroom and one in the back separating the bedroom from the full bath. The half bath in the middle will have a regular swing door.
The kitchen will have the ‘L’ lounge dinette and two sofa’s in the living room opposing each other. Since the TV is above the driver area, lying down on the sofa’s will put you in the perfect position for watching the 55″ TV (woo hoo!) . Or you can put your feet up on one of the two ottoman’s.
Only having roof air allows more space above the driver area for the larger TV. The cruise air returns are normally in the upper corners so now that space as been freed up.
The flooring is going to be a medium wood color that blends nicely with the cabinets and the designer will pick the right carpet to go in the living room. It will be a low enough pile that it will not need to be taken up as the slides will go over it.
My eyes were starting to cross looking at so many fabrics. Picking the right one to go on the window surrounds in the living room without looking too bold was difficult. We found the right one. The real color will come from the four pillows on each sofa (those are bold!).
In the bedroom (the designer pointed out), that the only way to get color in there is from the bedspread/pillows. There are no surrounds at the windows, just wood. She also suggested a duvet cover vs. a regular fitted bedspread which we wouldn’t use anyway (the regular bedspread). So, I think that will work out just fine.

I wouldn’t know where to begin in designing an interior. But I know what I like when I see it.
Congratulations. The second hardest part of the process is done. Learning the coach is the hardest part. Both are very satisfying when done.
Ignore the comments from the folks who will try to say writing the check is the hardest part. You have already determined you would rather have the coach than your money and I agree that was an easy decision.

Today we wrapped up the final items that needed to be decided on. We picked out the rest of the pillow fabric for the bed, all the fixtures for the bathrooms and kitchen (including handles) of which all will be brushed nickel.
The designer put together a selection of back splashes for the kitchen and bathrooms which will be similiar in color but different in design. For now the kitchen will have one inch square beige and brown stones with a mix of metallic and glass squares of earthy colors (very nice looking). The same color scheme will go in the bathrooms but will have a harlequin shaped stonework (about 1″x1.5″ shapes).
After all was done, the owner’s took us around for a factory tour. Nice place and we saw three coaches in production. It really makes you realize what goes on behind the scenes, especially, all of that wiring, etc. Then we saw a coach that was just delivered that had been painted but was raw on the inside. Certainly enjoyed the tour.

No. Only the “one is just enough club”. Chassis built in 1998, Liberty worked their magic in 1999.

It seems to me that you have a ’99 coach. Ours will be a 2015 but obviously built in 2014…. I would call ours a 2015 as that’s what it will be titled as. Your title doesn’t mention anything about a ’98 does it?
Our ’08 coach was built in ’07 and is listed as an ’08 on the title.

The distinction for me is if I am ordering parts for a 96 as mine is titled I may get the wrong part because of changes from 95 to 96. It happened with the first parts I purchased. Since then I always specify 95 with talking parts or service for the Prevost side.
