I see where the latest Liberty offering has a high voltage DC system and a 12.5K ONAN generator. Very interesting. I read elsewhere that Onan is/has developed a system where the smaller generator is augmented by inverters when loads exceed the capacity of the generator. The inverters are in electrical sync with the generator, paralleled.

He’s what 20 yrs will do to our 73-87 GM truck cargo lamp lens that we call a docking light.
Classicparts.com gets $10ea, and usa1industries.com gets $9ea.
My bus has 14 of these, YIKES!!

As Andy explains the 4 position charger that makes sense to leave connected, not only because of his distance from the coach, but because if it doesn’t start after a 2 hour drive he is greatly inconvenienced
I do understand if there is charging current going to the batteries from either the alternator or the charger and the other is turned on how the voltage regulator can get confused. But I have often had multiple charging sources going to batteries for various reasons and ther has never been an issue.

It is my understanding that if Buddy feels bad because he has a CC, somebody here would be willing to sell him their Marathon, Millennium or Liberty badges.
I know your pain Buddy. My first new car was a Rambler.

The outlet it is plugged into is only hot when the bus is plugged in or Gen running.”
Your first sentence implies (at least to me) that there is a relay in the 120 volt circuit for the charger that is “off” when the coach switch is “on” and “on” when the coach is “off”. Is that the case?
Or is the outlet for the charger only hot when the bus is plugged into shore power or the generator is running?
If the later is the case, then if the coach’s Detroit Diesel is running and the coach is plugged into shore power or the generator is running while you’re going down the road … then the Guest charger would be energized.
Which is the case?
Whether the the Guest charger has 120volt power or not, having the diodes in the wires to prevent back feeding from the chassis alternator would be a good idea. At least I would think that!

XL ll have the solid rod in front on the ride height valve and the ones with the rubber ends on the back two , they do not offer the solid ones for the back on a XL ll

One place folks can inquire is Charter Bus Companies. Most of the larger ones have their own driving classes. It may be possible to participate in a class for a fee. Or, maybe with an understanding is to agree to drive for them on your schedule, weekend fill in etc, Usually when you complete the training and take your Driver’s License test you will be put with a trainer for a few days.
Might be worth a thought.

in Florida according to our research no additional license beyond normal is required. This seems a bit lax to me coming from the perspective of airplanes, where I flew a a Captain for around 10,000 hours, and training was an integral part of the equation.
Had several suggestions to go to Lazy Days and take their short course in RV driving. Plan to do that. But it seems better than nothing, but pretty slim to meet a minimum training requirement. However plan to do that. Very reasonable, $150 a couple I think.
The local vo-tech/college programs offer Class A tractor trailer training. But the investment much larger at close to $3K. Less for Class B at closer to 1K. But still based on trucks, not busses. The most logical training is for school bus drivers, but you have to apply for a “job”? Then it’s free, but you are expected to drive a school bus for at least a while.
Just not much RV/Bus training generally available. Suggestions welcome?

Thermal image is a real step up. Most IR devices are point and shoot and deliver a temp at the moment in time. Thermal imaging implies measurements across a broader area?

We definitely have been hacked. Someone posing as a member is pretending a repair was made for $1.60 in parts. I believe we are now in the orange alert phase.
Who the hell is that coon ass making fun of the fine administrators on this site? Must be another hacker.
RED ALERT, RED ALERT!
