I know that place. They have all those big Preeeevost buses there. Must be a pretty special place because a lot of folks are coming from all over the country to dump their tanks (and get some work done).

The ground appears all wet, Buddy must have been the last one to use it.

That is not wet that is fresh dirt used to level the area off….come on you all know how clean the outside of that coach is and it is the same on the inside…

It is my understanding that if Buddy feels bad because he has a CC, somebody here would be willing to sell him their Marathon, Millennium or Liberty badges.

I know your pain Buddy. My first new car was a Rambler.

Wow! A Rambler, not even an American Motors car … a Kenosha Cadillac. None of us probably realized how humble Jon’s beginnings were. He has certainly come quite a ways in his life.

That was the first new car after we married.

Our first car when we got married was a 1950 Ford two door sedan.

In between the Ford and the Rambler was a Studebaker Lark.

    Times have changed.

That Lark was a character builder.

It had the salmon color offered by Studebaker. Ugly is inadequate as a descriptor.

What we will never forget is we lived in western NY and it got cold in the winter. Anything above 20F and the car would start. Anything below it would not until I found the trick.

When it was below 20 F outside (not 20 below zero, just below 20) I had to remove all six plugs from the flathead six engine. I then took them inside the trailer (now called a manufactured home) and arranged them around the propane burners on the stove and heated them until the tip got red. Then before they could cool I put them in an aluminum pie tin, ran out to the car, installed them and while still hot, I turned the car engine over. It would always start.

Whenever anyone talks about the good old days I remember what it was like and am glad we don’t live in the good old days any more.

    Hey Buddy…

Sounds like a perpetual CC party!! Jeff was kind enough to say he might be able to squeeze me in for a small job next week. I hate to drive in the rain (forcasted Sun nite & Mon), so most likely will see you tomorrow afternoon. I’ll be leaving Karen at our daughters in Mt. Juliet, so Lucky gets promoted to navaguesser. He swears he’s up to the task!! I think he’ll do just fine. My main concern is that if it gets any colder there, it could turn into some two dog nights…in which case I’ll be a dog short!! 😮
