Mike! All the roof AC’s sit on a thick rubber seal around 5/8 thick or so, In time the weight of the unit and age that seal gets compressed so it gets loose, so you need to tighten up the seal. From inside the bus on the ceiling you need to find the air intake, under eachAC, and the unit’s are held on with 4 long bolts anywhere from 6 to 10 inch long bolts. all AC’s are mounted the same way with 4 bolts. You might have ducted so youwill need to expose them, then tighten them up, don’t over do them.

Dometic makes a couple of different kinds. Seems to me what you have is some homemade device some one made up.

If fuel is purchased in northern climates it is already treated and no additives are required. If the coach is being driven from the south to north the return fuel is warm and keeping the tank contents warm enough.
The coldest we were ever in, and the worst circumstances was on a trip north from FL to Jamestown NY we went into sub zero temps. With full fuel from FL we overnighted in a gas station and it got to minus 26. We left the engine run all night and ran the next day almost the entire trip on southern fuel. The warmest it got was minus 20. Just before home we topped off with fuel undoubtedly treated by the refinery.
We never had fuel gel or any trouble.
I wouldn’t add anything to my fuel.

Mike:
Is that gate to keep you from falling down the steps while you are looking up installing the ceiling? LOL

MemberJanuary 2, 2021 at 7:41 am in reply to: Suspension Squeak and engine compressor questionI should have mentioned that the main tanks stay reading 125# while idling but I know I have some minor aux links. When parked the aux air compressor will kick in about every 15 minutes but not every 1 minute.

Congratulations Jon:
What a refreshing thing to hear. In the yachting industry we see so many successful people turn their company over to their children only to watch the company go down the drain or the children are not even interested in the company.

Thanks, interesting info. I found an AX74/03 but that was not the right kind of belt and could not find anything googling 3AX74. If anyone is using one on a ’90’s vintage coach could you let me know what you are using and where you found it?
Thanks

Jon, Thanks for the explanation. Sorry I didn’t see your post prior to emailing you. All that makes sense. If you were me and you had a bunch of them that needed to replace would you or would you just continue to let them over grease them and roll with it. They are saying about 20 hours and 5k for parts and labor plus a front end alignment which I don’t feel I need. She tracks great as is…
THank you

I think if we are honest with ourselves we likely can agree we get what we deserve. Every night the local news leads off with pandemic data and it reflects how the numbers are skyrocketing.
But then through the rest of the news we see people and events where nobody is wearing a mask or distancing themselves from others.
Our favorite example of the stupidity of the public that leads officials to institute regulations is anytime we see a school bus on the news we see kids getting off the bus and then putting on their masks. We see demonstrations where people are shouting and have their masks down around their necks.
Right now our attitude is everyone else is a threat and as such we stay home unless leaving home is for an essential purpose and then we will not go near anyone without a mask. Six feet, not good enough. 15 feet works for us, and that is if the people have masks.

Wake up Mikee. You better bring that new bus to Orange Beach..

What is this EEPROM error I hear about?

Now I’m thoroughly confused – guess there’s something to be said for both removing and keeping.

The point that needs to be considered is every fan motor with a 104 degree cutoff in every coach is going to stop running. Obviously if that is the case this and every other forum would be filled with posts and threads about the problem.
But since this is the first time I have ever seen this issue discussed to tells me Vantare has done something that prevents shut down. There is no way a coach is going to avoid high air temps. Driving down the highway in the summer with the generator running very hot air is drawn into the fan. In most of the nation in the summer the road is heated by the sun and is radiating that heat up. That is why Cruisairs struggle in the summer.
So the solution is to find out what Vantare did to prevent that problem. My guess is they added a jumper across the thermostatic switch or temperature sensing device to keep power to the motor, or they use a higher temperature motor.
Cutting holes in your coach has to be a last resort.
