Bragging.
I am going to be bragging. Not because of my accomplishments, but because of my daughter’s accomplishment.
On Dec. 17 her company is going to get some exposure on Fox Business with Lou Dobbs at around 9:30. She bought the company from me in 2000 and at that time it was doing quite well, but she has clearly raised the bar when it comes to defining success.
The company is not only a serious player in providing products to RV parks, campgrounds and outdoor recreation areas, but it still is kicking some foreign ass taking products away from foreign producers and bringing that product back her to this country. Now it is expanding into new areas of production.

What a refreshing thing to hear. In the yachting industry we see so many successful people turn their company over to their children only to watch the company go down the drain or the children are not even interested in the company.

Now I’m confused..
Jon is always complaining about having to raise his own food, not getting any dues money, yet his daughter is doing quite well with his previous company. Apparently she is better at negotiating than he is. She has a successful company that used to be Jon’s and he has to raise his own food..
Guess the apple does fall far from the tree on occasion.

Jon you can be proud and boast as this is a a rarity in today’s world.
I sold our business to our son and he is doing quite well in expanding it.
I have several friends whose children wanted no part of the company they had sacrificed for to build it into a successful business. Selling off to someone with no ties to the family.
So many kids today only want a pay check and no responsibility.
One Career Builder survey shared employers expect 45% of their newly hired college grads would remain with the company for under two years, and the study showed that by age 35, about 25% of young employees would have worked five jobs.

No confusion Mikee……..when we got married we were young, uneducated and the only way we could see to inch ahead was to work. Like most people on this site we did it the hard way, earning our success. When we had our first owned home we had room for a garden, and that was the start of decades of gardening to produce food that tasted better than the cardboard the stores packaged it in.

Very impressive Jon, Taking over from Dad comes with its own points of interest. And then performing at the rate she has must make you very proud indeed!
