I don’t know if any of our members have an ability to communicate with CA officials, but while this apparently is intended to keep out of state transients away from long term RV park residents presuming the transients might carry the virus, if is going to force RV travelers to either drive to places that they can stay in overnight safely or have these travelers over nighting in parking lots, rest areas, or truck stops, potentially increasing risks to them, and likely not accomplishing what the regulations hope to accomplish.
If a transient spend the night in an RV park they can isolate, and they will be in a safe spot, and not likely to drive when tired because an RV park will not accept them.
RV park owners can impose certain rules and restrictions to isolate travelers without exposing anyone to covid 19.
The governor or whoever is behind this restriction needs to understand it was not well thought out.

Oh. But air, bus and public transportation travel is still ok?
Traveling by RV is about as contact-less and save as it gets. We are still planning on going south to Arizona like every year. May have to go through Nevada.

That’s the point. NY has a similar mindset. If you have come from one of the states NY deems to be a covid 19 hotspot you have to quarantine for 14 days. If people enter the state on a plane, bus or train I can understand the logic because there is no assurance the traveler isn’t a covid carrier and the regulations are intended to prevent that traveler from contaminating a NY resident.
But we could not visit our friends or daughter this year because we are not only quarantining at home, when we are traveling to their in the bus we are also quarantined for the one or two day travel time. But we would still have to quarantine when we got there. We can assure we have had no contact with anyone for the required 14 days prior to entering the state, but there is no flexibility or exception to the rules.
FWIW I monitor the local newspaper from where our daughter lives and despite the efforts covid 19 is a runaway freight train despite the almost total shut down of some businesses, restrictions about gatherings, etc.

I think if we are honest with ourselves we likely can agree we get what we deserve. Every night the local news leads off with pandemic data and it reflects how the numbers are skyrocketing.
But then through the rest of the news we see people and events where nobody is wearing a mask or distancing themselves from others.
Our favorite example of the stupidity of the public that leads officials to institute regulations is anytime we see a school bus on the news we see kids getting off the bus and then putting on their masks. We see demonstrations where people are shouting and have their masks down around their necks.
Right now our attitude is everyone else is a threat and as such we stay home unless leaving home is for an essential purpose and then we will not go near anyone without a mask. Six feet, not good enough. 15 feet works for us, and that is if the people have masks.

Actually the percentage of Covid 19 cases is worse than that if this site is correct. The states with heavy duty regulations such as NY and CA have a relatively low percentage of cases, but still show the importance of isolation.

It’s to bad that it came to this again, If people would of listened,wear mask, social distance, no big gatherings, and no super spreader rallies, and listen to the science not the BS, We would be a lot better off, Some times we have to Sacrifice things in life to make life better, A lot of people will not, and now We All Pay The Price.

Aspen Colorado is requiring tourists coming in to sign affadivit they have had a hegative covid test 72 hours before arrival. Pitkin County has a lower infection rate than other colorado counties
in 1918, Gunnison County banned entry to non residents. They had no fatalities. Earlier on in 2020 they did the same during initial lockdown
i have family members in colorado springs who refuse to wesr masks even in Wal Mart or the bank. They yell and scream and bully to get their way, claiming for the 20 minute visit they cant breath. Im truly disgusted at this behavior.

Do what we have to do, To get through it, There is a light at the end of the tunnel.Even when Covid is in the rear view mirror, If when you go to Wal-Mart or some big store If you wore a mask for 20 min and not catch a cold or flew again? I will do it. Wearing a paper or material mask, Not a big deal!

One thing this thread has proven to me is we are on our own in this pandemic.
The state and federal officials can regulate and restrict all they want, but no matter what they do people will continue to do what they want. I know masks I wear are to a degree for my protection, but are largely to protect others. As a result I view anyone outside my home as the enemy unless I know for certain they are as cautious as I am.
We were at a store several weeks ago and the store has a mask requirement. We still distanced ourselves from others and when we went to check out to macho men without masks stood at the end of the checkout and chatted without a care in the world. We stayed about 12 feet back from the empty checkout and about 20 feet from the macho men. The cashier kept signaling for us to move ahead and check out and I stood still. Eventually she asked why I wasn’t checking out and in a voice loud enough for the unmasked macho men to hear I pointed out the sign on the door required masks in the store, and yet the two macho men weren’t wearing them and I wasn’t moving until they were gone. I pissed them off, the cashier got pissed, and then the manager who was summoned to deal with the two men.
My only defense is not regulations, not expecting others to comply, but for me to do what I have to to stay away from others. I am not happy with how some regulations are shaped, and if we want a change of scenery in the bus we have to check to see if there are rules that will impact us, like the CA RV park restrictions against overnight stays. We have to abide by regulations, but we also can exercise whatever care we choose to remain safe. Too many morons to assume others are not carrying the virus.
And yet as a society people are still having sports, and other activities where the Covid 19 can be easily spread.

Right on Jon. People don’t get that mask protect the other guy. Like the military guy said he sacrificed so others could have freedom. The doctors, nurses etc wear mask all day long without any issues. How would someone like it if their kids cancer doctor came into the room with a cough and no mask.

I am in a hard spot. We make our living singing and preaching to small crowds of people. Thankfully, we do not minister thousands at a time, but mostly dozens. Who would have thought that would be an advantage?
We are only going to churches that are being careful. Admittedly, some individuals are not being as careful as we would like and some even seem to flaunt the guidelines set, but as Jon said, protecting us is up to us, as it should be.
The church we were in last week has moved into their gym/fellowship hall so that people can space out as much as they like. We did and it worked beautifully.
We are not shaking hands, we are not hugging and we are not hanging out. For church people, that is strange. If that is not acceptable for a church where we are scheduled, then we politely and sorrowfully decline to go.
So far, most people are being extremely gracious. We need a good heaping helping portion of graciousness in America right now. None of us have ever lived through a pandemic like this before unless some of you guys really are over 100.
Since we have never been here before, we have no firm conclusion as to whether what we are doing as individuals and families AND governments is completely right or not. All we can do is the best we can do. None of us have all the answers and that goes for even the best politicians.
We are trying to make a living AND be super careful not to catch and especially not to spread anything to anyone. We are waving at people that we normally would have embraced.
We may decide later that we should have done something completely different. Who knows?
