Done Deal!
Tom said they are over 20 Prevost RV clients now and he said Elite belongs to a network of similar companies along the East Coast that do emergency road repairs for each other’s tour busses. Tom gave me a card with his private cell and said if I ever broke down out of the area to just call him and he would have one of his friends at the closest bus company come rescus me. I thought that was pretty cool.
BTW, apparently my original OEM fuel filter was quite the topic of conversation in the shop when a parts rep stopped by. Tom said it is an antique and most commercial owners replaced them with an aftermarket filter much easier to monitor and maintain. His one suggested fix on my coach was some type of pan that sits under the airbox tubes to catch the oil so it doesn’t drip all over my garage floor. He is also huge into the new LED headlights. He converted his fleet and says his drivers won’t drive without them they are so much better in bad weather. I really like the OEM look so I ordered new lenses from Prevost to replace my frosted-over originals.

FWIW we are not alone in experiencing issues as a result of the proliferation of devices, browsers and other factors that influence our ability to view files, add photos, or type text.
That is not an excuse and we want everything to work properly, but I have had issues on two sites recently where I could not access documents or files and after much effort the solution was to change browsers. The companies in question are large multi-national companies and their employees in one case are reduced to accessing files from a disc because they also cannot open them using a variety of browsers.
In another case I can only open needed files using IE, while in almost every other case Chrome works. Did I ever tell anyone how much I like computers?

running 110 in the tags which should be plenty but my weight slips are in the coach. I’m pretty sure tag weight is about 15,000#.

Volvo engine may be well sorted now, but it still has EGR, DPF and SCR.
Jon, why would you want a Volvo when you have literally the best Diesel ever built. Literally all new gliders being built today have non egr 12.7 series 60’s in em. For a reason, most efficient, reliable, good power and parts and repair can be had nearly anywhere relativly cheap!
Obviously no choice now in a Prevost, but I think the pre egr 12.7 is about as good as it gets!
Mark, I would not worry about the Volvo, sure it will be ok, and you will have warranty! The main issues with the newer emissions engines is when they develop issues sometimes few people know how to fix them and make them run right, especially as it pertains to the EGR and regens on DPF etc.
On a coach, maybe no big deal, in a otr truck even if it is under warranty, it is sitting in the shop and not making revenue.

Jon,
Yes we are planning the I-77 to I-81 to I-84 at Scranton to I-495 to bypass Boston and then I-95 on to Maine. We will bypass DC, Philly, New York and Boston this way or at least this is the plan.
We have done the Walmart overnight a couple of times and it’s ok when only an overnight is involved. But we don’t typically drive more than about 400 miles a day so the walmart parking lot for extended hours doesn’t fit us so well. It is the ultimate fall back plan.
Business takes me to DC 10 or 12 times a year. I’ll pass on another visit – oh wait – i’ll be there in 2 weeks!
Malls are a good tip thanks.

You’ll be very pleased with the work when you get your bus finished. I’ve seen several of Jeff’s updates and they looked fantastic. Hope to see you in FL this winter.

Diane, I understand, a bigger vehicle is sure convenient when you have guests and ‘stuff’ to carry along. One thing is for sure, our coaches can pull anything we put behind them.
I have had two Jeep Grand Cherokee’s in the past and didn’t have good luck with them (a new ’96 and a new ’99) and was hoping things have gotten better over the years if I consider another. We then went to a ’02 Mercedes ML500 (rough ride) then to a ’06 Land Rover LR3 and now a ’10 Land Rover LR4. I’m sold on the Land Rover for room as ours will seat 7. The only problem, they can’t be towed four down. It’s time to change out the ’10 but they look just like the one I have.
Honestly, out of all the cars we have, I like driving the Honda for maneuverability and parking (zip in, zip out). And, I don’t have to worry so much if someone door dings it. I will park 10 miles away in the other cars! I’m a car nut, there will be no dust, dirt on my cars! LOL!
Safe travels,
MM.

After killing battery do you have to reset all functions, Radios, time, etc.?

Sould have mentioned, the pressure in the bus air systems is unimportant. On that vintage coach once the bus is level on a tight suspension all pressures can go to zero and the coach will still not lean.
Air is locked in the suspensions with the key off.

Just spoke with the nice man AAP and he said that the two sided nut on the top of king valve is my like the problem. It is at the top of the valve and requirres the 7/16 wrench. be sure it snug and there should be NO leak. Thought I was going to have to replace the king valve. Back to the bus tonight.

I”m not sure you will fit. Lots of low hanging trees. No Trucks allowed so they don’t trim the trees high enough. When we had our Foretravel, we thought about it and folks told us we were too tall. We were only 12′..

The way the writing is on the black one pictured it appears they want it mounted so the fins are vertical.
