Props to Elite Coach
I have been meaning to give a shout-out to Elite Coach in Ephrata PA near Lancaster. I had a warrantee issue with some A/C work done by Prevost Quebec City, and they refered me there. I had the bus there again before my Thanksgiving trip for some work and a safety check and they did an awesome job. I had tried at least five other shops close to home and all were pretty obvious they would only work on my bus if I were the last customer on the planet. When I picked my bus up at Elite, one mechanic told me he just loves 8V92s and was really happy to have a chance to do the exhaust manifold work on mine. Gave me all sorts of free advice. They run a fleet of Prevost tour busses and do all their own work.
The service manager told me I had probably the cleanest drive-train he had seen on a bus this old. I haven’t felt that proud since the pediatrician told us our baby was in the 95th percentile 🙂
I would really recomend Tom and his crew.

Tom said they are over 20 Prevost RV clients now and he said Elite belongs to a network of similar companies along the East Coast that do emergency road repairs for each other’s tour busses. Tom gave me a card with his private cell and said if I ever broke down out of the area to just call him and he would have one of his friends at the closest bus company come rescus me. I thought that was pretty cool.
BTW, apparently my original OEM fuel filter was quite the topic of conversation in the shop when a parts rep stopped by. Tom said it is an antique and most commercial owners replaced them with an aftermarket filter much easier to monitor and maintain. His one suggested fix on my coach was some type of pan that sits under the airbox tubes to catch the oil so it doesn’t drip all over my garage floor. He is also huge into the new LED headlights. He converted his fleet and says his drivers won’t drive without them they are so much better in bad weather. I really like the OEM look so I ordered new lenses from Prevost to replace my frosted-over originals.

Tell us more about these headlights. What part number for the bulb and where to buy. Enquiring minds who want brighter lights. We have all but given up driving in the dark

The following link gets you to the actual lamps and Tom has a source for the bezel. Seems to me one would need to have the bezel chrome plated to use with most of our XL’s. He also has some busses where he used an insert into the existing chrome frame.

Is that black housing going to fit where the space where the original equipment headlight pods install? Are you going to use this set-up and if so will you wind up with two turn signals on each side, the original up high and the new one in the black housing? I don’t mind the black housing look but with a high mounted turn signal I would not need this specific housing. I’d need one without the turn signal.

Here is a link to vehicle LED bulb replacement. They have the complete kit for H11 9004, 9005 and 9007. They have any and all replacements for the coach. Their ‘house’ lights are on another page. Plus rope lights in several shades of white and color and/or color changing.

I really like keeping my bus looking “stock” so I simply replaced the OEM lenses with new ones from Prevost.
On my XL, the assembly in the picture would replace everything – I don’t have turn signals higher-up.
