  • Sure Power Change Out

Posted by Archived on August 21, 2014 at 9:00 pm

    My
new Sure Power equalizer finally showed up after almost two months
and it sure looks different the old one. No problem swapping out
after talking to Jeff, it gets a little sparky when you put the
ground cable on for the first time and all is well.

Yes, it’s the recall Sid. As you can see, my house is Vanner, so I didn’t need to involve Marathon. Somewhere along the way my chassis equalizer got changed from Vanner to Sure Power and I was able to do this myself.

Interesting that they added a lot of cooling fin area but reoriented the fins by 90 deg on the new model. Kind of defeats the purpose of adding more cooling area. Horizontal fins are less efficient than vertical during passive convection cooling.

The way the writing is on the black one pictured it appears they want it mounted so the fins are vertical.
