Tom was that “blend switch” on an H or XL?

Does the “blend switch” work an air damper? Or a valve in the coolant plumbing?

Al, We haven’t yet merged the reservations between the Carlisle reservations, those coming through Parliament or the PC list. But from discussions we have had we are at least more than double the amount of coaches compared to the first event.

Whether we will be on the ramp we were on originally or over by Building E will be determined when we know the final number of buses. Tim is usually on top of this but he has been busy looking for a new comb.

There is an advantage to being in the original location because the Cessna building worked very well for us for our meetings and meals. Bill and Tim are going to make the decision when there is a final count.

It was the original starter that came with the bus when I picked it up new in December 1998. I have close to 220,000 miles on the bus and the starter.

I have added an article that might be helpful to anyone who may have to start chasing leaks. It not only includes more details regarding the project posted to start this thread, but it offers some insight regarding moisture protection for the accessory systems.

It needs to be emphasized that a number of us have discussed the topic of accessory system moisture protection amongst ourselves and the concensus is there does not appear to be any or reliable protection from moisture originating with the auxiliary compressor on most if not all coaches, regardless of converter. So if a project such as described above and in the article is of interest it likely should include provision for improved moisture trapping downstream from the aux compressor.

Here’s a case where we can be very generous.

We can double TF’s time off, vacation time, overtime pay, etc. Aren’t we great? To show our heart is in the right place we will reduce your dues by 50%.

Diane, the price did raise our eyebrows.! A bargain price, but…….. As you know, there are hidden demons. The coach could be selling because of life changing event. Seller may just want it gone, because it’s a burden. But…… It needs to be inspected.. I don’t know what would be a Genesys proprietary system. Most else is common. We were talking with Marathon at the time in 2009 to buy it. But they had a high price tag on it.

your friends need to find a DD dealer, to tour bus company that can check it out. Sorry, I don’t know more

    OSBMIXER…

    I am a “wife” driver !!!

Infact I can even do it all… wouldn’t hesitate to take a trip without Larry if need be. He actually admits he wouldn’t take a trip without me because he likes everything working LOL !! He doesn’t want to mess with learning the systems… he just wants it to work.

For the many years that Larry had undiagnosed sleep apnea I was the primary driver… nothing worse than flying down the highway at 80 and looking over at the driver and he’s asleep… his driving career ended that day until he got a c-pap machine which was a few years…. he’s ok now thank goodness !!

I enjoy driving and am very comfortable with it… I think the fear of the size of the bus is natural but also easily overcome if they enjoy driving a car etc…. just need to drive out on the freeway without having OSto make any sharp turns for a few times and you will get used to the size… it really isn’t hard at all. ( The folks that don’t like driving shouldn’t !!)

It would be really nice if the wives/girlfriends learned the basics of hooking up unhooking doing the sewer etc. and some driving incase your better half gets sick… it has happened to us a couple of times and I was able to handle it all and get us home without a problem.

Just for the record we are “older” than Tom or Jon !!

    Cheers, Diane

Our coach was originally custom made for a guy whose daughters did horse shows. They made a true bunk room in the middle of the coach with a side hallway design. Really cool setup. The bunkroom has three bunks, a hanging closet, TV, and an air door to close the bunkroom. Great design. Hard to find coaches with the bunks that aren’t entertainer coaches with 900,000 miles on them.

I have zeroed out most items on the coach and it gives us very few problems. I have an issue here or there but overall it is a great asset to the family.

This forum helps me out a ton. I chime in on items I have experience with but I try to read and learn as much as possible. As I said before, the other RV’s we owned were OK but this truly has become our secondary home and we love it. Before buying the bus we were considering a vacation home somewhere. Since buying the bus, that conversation has ended.

As for Tulsa, we have tons of great local restaruants you just have to know where to look. Next time you are here let me know and I’ll point you in the right direction.

Something to keep in mind with the 90° gear box is making sure the pulleys are all running in line, it’s not uncommon to have a bushing wear in the fan drive Assm and have your tensioner be a little off kilt. The pulley on the belt side is also adjustable to bring it in or away from the gear box. Your best bet is to watch the belt and pulleys and make sure that everything is running true. There is also a grease fitting in the frame of the fan drive that needs to be greased periodically so make sure your service guy is aware of it! I’ve seen many of these start to shred belts and jump grooves due to bad bearings/bushings and not running inline with the rest of the pulleys.
