Yes, I remember when Marathon had it for sale in 2009. Nice bus. Genesys built a very few conversions. This was a Canadian conversion company.

Jim & Chris…
Our friend is talking to the lady owner… maybe the husband has passed away… she claims they have had no trouble with it at all… they have owned it for 4 years.
The price is $105K which it may have enough room there for some repairs… I suggested a PDI to them and warned of the many possible repairs it may need… I told him it looked nice BUT be prepared to spend $$$$ on it maybe up to $30K depending..???
Don’t want to run them off of it… they have been looking a long time and I think they are looking for a bargain.. I told him they are out there but watch out… it’s not always what it seems like… Have encouraged them to get on here and learn but maybe they are not too much into computers. They are a strong christian couple in their 60s and very nice… I’d hate to see them get screwed !
What would your opinion be at that price?
Cheers, Diane

Would be nice if there was a concise “first time buyer’s” thread to explain all the basic stuff a new buyer should need to at least be made aware of to look for in a coach. I am well versed with forum sites and digging for info, but there are only so many hours in the day to “dig”. I’d like to read a concise thread about zeroing out a coach right about now.

Diane, the price did raise our eyebrows.! A bargain price, but…….. As you know, there are hidden demons. The coach could be selling because of life changing event. Seller may just want it gone, because it’s a burden. But…… It needs to be inspected.. I don’t know what would be a Genesys proprietary system. Most else is common. We were talking with Marathon at the time in 2009 to buy it. But they had a high price tag on it.
your friends need to find a DD dealer, to tour bus company that can check it out. Sorry, I don’t know more

IMO that is a fantastic price. If it were really checked out that could be a great deal. If your friends can afford a reserve for updating and repairing items to zero things out it could be a great deal for them. An asking price of $105,000 is a fanstastic starting point anyway. Hope it works out.

There is so much that influences the price it is impossible to determine if it is a good or bad price.
But on the surface the coach appears to be reasonable priced and compared to the apparent market price for coaches of that vintage it does allow room to make some repairs or to “zero” it out.
Any coach needs a good pre-purchase inspection. But my gut tells me that absent some serious problems such as mold and mildew because of leaks, major engine issues, poorly repaired collision damage, etc. this could make someone a very nice coach. But to determine that a whole lot of additional information is going to be required.
