The stainless is tough. If it is luggage bay doors the bottom piece is seperate from main door sheet. The flat piece aprox 12 inches by 53 inches you can get at a local metal fabricator. A good source for other is IBP International bus parts in Apoka Florida. Call Steve and get a catalogue

Like others I did not have an opportunity to meet Peter in person. It looks like I missed by one week. I had been at Jeff’s the week before Peter’s visit. Like others, I always read and reread Peter’s posts to glean more knowledge about our coaches. My youngest daughter works horses for a living so felt a kindred connection there.

None of us are guaranteed another hour on this wonderful orb He created. From Peter’s posts I could see he understood that and made the most of his time here with us. He is with the Lord now and at peace. My wishes to the family are for the peace that only comes from knowing the Lord descend on them and ease their grief.

    Jon/Tom,

Perhaps sending this thread to Trina might be the best way to show her the love we all had for Peter, wether we knew him in person or simply through this Community and his postings.

We don’t know the Robeson’s but we are certainly sending ‘get-well’ wishes to Phil and his puppy. This has to be very hard for Joanne too and I’m sure it was a very shocking call to receive.

Jeff, you are a life-saver for helping them with their coach.

I’ve had the pump reader only display three numbers when in fact I put in four. However, after I press “Enter”, I’ve had no problems getting fuel. I think the display sometimes cuts off the first digit.

The reason they have to park on off ramps and shoulders is lack of parking space at truck stops and rest areas. It also has to do with when they have to stop. Our disfunctional government morons mandate one size fits all in terms of hours of service for drivers. It no longer allows a driver to break up his day, but mandates he has to do it all in one stretch with a 30 minute break somewhere in the 11 hours they can drive before taking 10 hours off.

It was much better when you could take a couple of hours of down time to avoid congestion, or have a nice meal someplace. Most truck stops have gotten rid of sit down restaraunts in favor of fast food. Have you noticed all the drivers eating fast food while going down the road, and rushing at docks and fuel stops because they can’t afford to waste any time?

Not everyone is wired the same way. Some like to stop and take a nap during the day when they have loaded or unloaded. Sometimes to beat congestion in metro areas…why get into Chicago during rush hour when you are going to be going at a snails pace. Taking a nap until traffic clears makes lots of sense. Others do not want to stop. The regulations that are in place now do not take that into consideration, they force everyone to do the same thing. This back and forth fight has been going on for years. People with an agenda, and sometimes funded by railroad groups, have been pushing to get drivers to be less efficient for a long time.

I find it to be ridiculous that when truck accidents have been going down for years, and the majority of accidents are caused by cars, that they are always looking to dump on the trucking owner or driver. How about going after the idiots in the cars who are: texting, reading, shaving their legs (I have personally seen this one), driving way too fast, fussing with kids in the back seat etc. Also, how about going after equipment violations…inoperable lights, brakes etc. Cops used to write tickets for that kind of stuff all the time, but seldom do anymore. I guess it cuts into donut eating time.

Slowing trucks or buses down will cause more problems than it will ever solve.

    Ronnie

Why do you think I have this info so readily available? I too mistook it for coolant temp. I was bitching to Jason at Prevost about a trans heat gauge and he left it for me on my seat because he knew I would be pissed.

Then I hollered at him for Prevost making it look like a coolant gauge. After a good laugh, we move on.

On mine the trans guage runs about 10 degress hotter than my water and 215 is normal running at 70mph in 6th gear. I can’t see my coolant gauge on the dash for shit because of how I tilt my wheel so I leave the circle gauge on the pro driver showing trans heat and if it gets up higher I start paying attention if there’s a problem.

I guarantee you we are not the only one’s who have done this but me you and the Godfather are the only one’s who admitted it.

    Jon,

Great post and great information. We have had several no follow ups at all to service history requests.

I guess there are enough buyers out there that are not PC members. I hope everyone realizes and appreciates

what a huge benefit this site is and more so this community. The commradery and willingness to help each

other is fantastic and unheard of in this day and age. We would not be looking for a Prevost if not for this

site and these great members. I can not thank Tom and Jon and all the members and sponsors enough.

Received the VIN Vin: 2PCM33402T1025978 today.

Those numbers make much more sense. The “P” indicates Prevost, the “M” indicates XL motorhome shell, the first
zero indicates a 40′, the “T” indicates shell year 1996,and the last four are the sequential coach numbers for all
    XL coaches 1996 and up.

Still no service info. We will be in Pittsburgh at the end of the month, and might go the few hours more for a look

    in person.
