Many of us will not attend a function at Hearthside since they have a rule that if your coach is over “10” years old or older you are not welcome there.

There was a rally planed there by some others here on this site but was called off because of the 10 year rule.

Cody, you might also check on alowability of XLs. I was told by a knowledgeable member that Harthside had stated no XL would be allowed in their facilities. Why? Can’t answer that question. Until you have clearification in writing, you are unlikely to get too many10 year old shiny zeroed out PC coaches there.

Odd that I have talked with them many times about rally things and this was never mentioned. I searched all over their page because they have not replied to my text yet and it does not say those rules. I will get to the bottom of that.

We canceled a rally at Hearthside because of the 10 year rule, it exists and is enforced. Good luck getting only 2007 and newer coaches to a rally.

If you are planning a rally at Hearthside make sure you get a waiver of the 10 year rule in writing. We did everything we could except stand on our head and spit dimes to get that provision waived for a PC rally and they refused. That meant the rally was only available to owners of coaches 10 years old or less. They were at the time immovable and we had to cancel the rally.

That meant rivet coaches and H coaches with 4 windshields would be turned away. The ironic part was that we knew of site owners at Hearthside that owned coaches that did not meet their own rules regarding age. Hearthside is inconsistent in their enforcement. But they are not the only resort that enforces the 10 year rule despite having owners whose coaches are outside the allowable limits.

Don’t waste much time or money on this until you learn if you can get that 10 year waiver. Let us know. You seem confident you will be able to do something we could not do..

First off I am sorry for putting my company name on here I apologize I wasnt trying to promote my business. I just am new to this and wasn’t thinking clearly. I talked with Hearthside Grove and today he told me if I have pictures of all coaches attending rally no matter the age to be looked over then it would be allowed. They want to check for upkeep on coaches.No fiberglass coaches though will be allowed.Yes they know mine is a 2000 with 2016 updates. Going forward any questions call Hearthside on that matter. I want to get some people to step forward that would be willing to go! Come on! 🙂

I am partial to parks younger than 10 years old.

You need to understand a little history. Buddy has the nicest late 90’s coach on the planet. The stainless is buffed to a high shine, his wheels are chromed and the paint is to die for. He was interested in buying a site at Hearthside. They would not even let him look at sites because his coach was too old.

When we scheduled a rally there for PC members we thought they would relax the requirement given that our 2800 plus members are the exact demographic for their resort. Instead they not only would not consider looking at photos they just refused to take exception to the 10 year rule. Since we cancelled what could have been a large rally it sounds as though they relaxed the rules, but I don’t forgive or forget. They were rude and stupid because the Hearthside site owner that is a PC member was the one telling us the ten year rule was sacred and could not be violated, while he owned a Prevost that did not comply.

We were forced to cancel because we are not going to allow discrimination against our members and we have members who own other than Prevost coaches that also would not be allowed. Our Oysterfest rally at Bella Terra is an example of how we can have a rally at a resort with the 10 year rule. Our contract not only waives the 10 year rule, but equally important we have language that says any coach, as long as it is participating in the PC Oysterfest rally regardless of type or age is welcome.

If you are going to become a dealer you need to learn that while existing Prevost owners may be future customers, so are owners of high end motor homes such as Bluebird, Monaco, Foretravel, Newell, etc. If you allow discrimination against those folks as Hearthside has done the discrimination is against some good people with nice coaches and the strong possibility they may become future Prevost owners.
