You can get a coach in the price range you mention and if it has been maintained, and you continue to maintain it there is a strong possibility you will never wear it out.

Or if you do not do your homework and you do not carefully inspect what you are buying and adjust the price to reflect what it might cost to make needed repairs it could turn your dream into a nightmare. A Newmar can also so that is not advice exclusive to Prevost buyers.

Start by reading all you can, seeing as many coaches as you can before you start getting serious about any, setting your budget with allowance for bringing the coach up to your standards, and learning what your wants and needs are. Your budget is going to narrow your choices substantially so that is the first step, and make certain the total budget is comprised of the price you will pay, plus what you will have to spend to make it meet your standards

There are endless decisions you have to make and they are going to be based on your planned use of the coach, your budget, and your level of participation in the care and maintenance in the coach. The people on this forum represent millions of miles of experience, and many years of Prevost coach ownership and they are willing to answer your questions and offer opinions. You may actualy get an accurate answer to your questions from time to time.

Keep in mind one very important thing. Owning a coach such as a Prevost or comparable motor home is not cheap, but I doubt if you will find anything more satisfying than travel in one, and nothing can compare to the friendships you will make if you participate at rallies and on the forum.

Im sorry about that blowing oil problem. It’s like they always say that someone always has it worse! my bus is new to me with only having it two weeks but it becomes personal. Sure it’s a big hunk of medel and wires but it’s your hunk of metal and wires and it becomes personal. As my bus was being worked on I said to the mechanic “remember your working on my baby so be gentle and no bad language”! I delivered that with a smile but he understood!

The rebuilt starter is to be finished on Monday and will be installed shortly thereafter. I’m looking forward to the sweet rolling thunder of the big 92!

Sounds like Tom’s Lifelines may not need to be equalized

2004 Marathon H3

My Girard awnings worked perfectly for several years even in Indio Sun. Just this fall in Florida on 85 degree

day put out all awnings. Only two came in. The other two moved about 16 inches then would stop. Pushing the remote and manual switches would result in no relay clicks or other sounds at all from the control boxes. Waited till

evening and they went in fine. This issue proceeded to get worse and worse. Now all awnings(4) do the same thing.

The last attempt to retract the DS FWD awning OAT 75 sunny, would move in 1″ at a time then stop. By recycling the remote through all other awnings then back to that one it would again move 1″. It took about 15 min. to get the awning all the way in. Been afraid to use them since. Girard says there isn’t a problem. Marathon has been trying to

deal with this issue as it is getting to be common but they aren’t getting any help from Girard. Everyone seems baffled. One suggestion was to bypass the internal motor overtemp control. Since the motors have not had much use and when running seem to be fine I would consider this but no one seems to know how to acomplish this task.

Any ideas?

Thank you for the information. I am absolutely stunned and shocked by this terrible news. I met Peter late one night at your place with Mike Davis. Peter was quite entertaining and knowledgeable. He inspected Mike’s and my coach into the early morning hours sharing his wisdom and experience with us like we were long lost friends. In that one meeting and several back and forth texts and emails, Peter made me feel like a brother. Peter was a gentleman to all and a scholar to us here on the Prevost Community.

He will be greatly missed by all. I will miss his wit and humor, as well as his encyclopedia of knowledge. Our heart and prayers go out to his family and you Jeff, his good friend.
