Re; Replacement of the rear “seal” on the Kubota Engine:
We have removed the generator again and have discovered that the collar on the shaft is in excellent condition on the shaft but when the new seal was replaced and positioned, believe it or not, apparently a very small 1 /16th of an inch of the rubber inner seal which could not be seen pealed back …. which was enough to allow a leak to re-occur. Even though he slightly greased the shaft and gently turned the seal,etc., it was not seated. The mechanic could not have done more.
The mechanic doing this is super efficient and I just feel terrible about the extra warranty work he is having to do. I instructed him last night to also acquire a new collar if it can be reinstalled reasonably easily….. as well as any other parts the Kubota Dealer could suggest that might cause a future problem.
The smallest things… can create such problems some times….
Hope this information helps anyone who faces this type of issue.

We will be traveling at leasure pace. We will not be in a big hurry for anything. We will have the rest of our lives to see this great country. We will have a small toad of some kind. We have not decided on that part yet but it will not be big.

Quit complaining or your dues will double again.
For those who don’t know, when a post is made without a title nobody can open it. We cannot open it so we have to assign something in the title box so we can go to the thread and then open and read it.
If we weren’t so lazy what we would do is title it X, then open it and read it, then go back and edit the title again. But because cheapskates like Harry pay so little dues we cannot take the time from our day job of flipping burgers to do all the editing required. The more I think about this, the more I think we should triple Harry’s dues.

I did mine Tim, it’s the Pulse with the new dynamic sensors and 40′ external antenna. The antenna isn’t difficult, it’s just time consuming. You need to get the antenna as far to the rear as possible. I came out of the steering bay, up over the inside fender well and down the side of the bus, then mounted the antenna to the gen exhaust bracket. I used cable fasteners and silicone to assure the cable was secure. You must have a good ground. We did 2600 miles this summer with 1 rear toad tire signal loss for a short period of time and it all worked well.
You do have two other options. For those that don’t want to fool with the external antenna, you can do the Pulse with the standard sensors and repeater. The only down side is the temperature reading is in 40 degree increments instead of 2 degrees with the newer dynamic sensors. Not a big deal as I see it. The other option is the standard 16W monitor with repeater.

This is what a micro switch looks like. It is mounted near the one of the rods that move back and forward on or near the actuator and the silver piece gets pushed in closing completing the circuit telling your dash light all the bays are locked…if you were still wanting to know.
I dont see one on Tim’s door set up and it very well could be a converter installed thing, but that is how mine is.

My head almost exploded when you started getting into advanced procedures like right clicking a mouse.
I got picked on by two guys today because they know my fear of these advanced technical devices. For two days in a row now I have 1.) actually had my cell phone turned on, and 2.) I answered it when I got a call.
To say they were amazed and impressed that they were able to get me to answer my phone would be an understatement. If I were to tell them I right clicked my mouse they would not believe it.

I saw that so if it does not list in the process to disconnect the cable then my interpretation is there is not one to hook back up.

When I purchased the Wrangler, I was my typical PITB self and my first question was if the manufacturer had figured out the death wobble issues that were present on previous models and if it’s been corrected on the 2017 models. They were clueless and sent me to the service department.
No answers there either.
So, I went to the GM and said that I’d like to buy one, but I need it in writing that the model I purchase is factory approved for towing behind a motorhome. I sent him the link that appeared on the FMCA website that had the statement from Fiat/Chrysler about a specific wiring harness that needs to be installed on specific models. It surprised me that while this was active conversations on various forums, they dealer and service department was clueless about this harness. I even provided the part number.
I’ll add that calling the Jeep toll free number was useless as they just tell you to ask the dealer.
Finally, the dealer put it in writing (email) that towing behind the bus would in no way violate the factory warranty.
When I made the purchase and completed the mountain of paperwork, I refused to sign the arbitration clause and explained that after all, they were unsure about the death wobble thing and should it happen, I’m not waving my rights to a jury trial. This delayed the purchase for a half hour while they called the GM and then the owner. They agreed with my logic.
Then, on the last page of the contract, they snuck (not they…it was pre-printed) another statement about arbritration. I struck that one out and initialled it. By then, I was buddies with the finance manager and we were laughing about it.
With around 5,000 towing miles, the Wrangler has done a fine job!

This may be one of the dumbest things I have ever posted, but have you considered Camping World?
Given the number of RVs and tow bars they sell I cannot think of anyone that is likely to do more installs than they do. Having said that I would watch them like a hawk to make sure they don’t screw something up.

I can’t answer many questions, but this one I know the answer to. A vehicle that is 13’6″ can go through the bridge/tunnel. We used to truck through there often at the full 13’6″.
Final coach height is dependent upon accessories on the roof and varies accordingly, but 13’6″ is the legal limit in most states east of interstate 35, out west is 14′.

Wash Wax All is on line, not at stores.
Do not assume, call Brian. Let him explain how well the wax part works vs carnuba wax or other waxes. He is very knowledgeable and can answer your questions and concerns.
He will tell what it will and will not do. You will not get a bunch of BS from him.
Brian sells a patented mop head and pole that allows one to work the whole bus standing on the ground, no ladder needed. This includes the Bug Buster head to get the bugs off of the top of the front, no scratching.
Brian is the Jeff of the waterless wash world.
Oh, by the way, on the Wash Wax All bottle, are instructions on how to use it with no water AND instructions on how to use it if you prefer to soap and water wash first. Like I said, no BS from Brian.

Thats great news Orren, It’s nice to know there are good places to eat close by where your staying. The last time I was at Pipestem was almost 20 years ago and all I remember is how beautiful it was! I wasn’t thinking anything about a motorhome back then but I’m happy to know they have pull through spots so I don’t have to preview my backing skills to the unsuspecting public!Harry
