I looked at that coach in Ohio as a private sale, that owner had purchased it from SW Luxury.

I know I have since seen it for sale with a consignor dealer where I saw it shown as sold.

I do not remember what dealer.

it needed a broken window repair and other things with a quick visual inspection.

    Davy –

It is unfortunate that we have to resort to dash cams to protect ourselves from the idiots on the roads. We are in the process of purchasing a dash cam and are interested to know which one you have. It appears that it works very well! Would you recommend the one you have or a different one?

steer—should be stair. It is directly next to where the heat(coolant ) and freon lines come thru. I sealed around them also. Good catch! I’ll be 70 in couple months so Thought I had better record some experiences before they are gone. Bob

Bob wrote: “The right headlight asembly is just in front entrance steer well. Has a couple holes that I sealed. Just think of air pressure at 60mph. ”

Is it possible that Prevost wasn’t too interesed in sealing this area up because there wouldn’t be a passenger sitting right in front of right front headlight on a seated coach?

Emailed Leon at Marathon. They came up with this model: Fisher & Paykel RF170ADUSX4. It will fit into the current hole with no modifications. Now just hope the windshield doesn’t shatter when they remove it.

    Thanks for all the input.

This is good news. If I were stopping at Love’s all of the time or even most of the time, then the rewards from the credit card would not make up for losing the 10 cent Love’s discount. However, since I rarely fuel at Love’s, I have already forfeited that discount and I will welcome the rewards from my card.

Thanks to all responsibile for working this out. It has been said many times but the fuel and go option makes the card worth it and the rest is icing on the cake.

We have found that regular campgrounds has served us well in our travels. We did stay at a WalMart once, but gave it up a long time ago. Back in our Pace Arrow days we used to camp out in rest areas, but found them too noisy from the refer trucks in oour old age. We do not like to travel in the dark, so if we don’t have a specific stop planned, we just pull out the Trailer Life bible and pick a place we can reach in a few hours. Registration just takes a couple of minutes, and for the last five years or so, we’ve kept an eye out whether they could take a 45-footer, and most can. Security is rarely an issue–we have not felt unsafe in any campground we have stayed in. The closest one was at Hill AFB, where a Marine with apparent PTSD had a bad attitude. A sitdown and a serviceman to serviceman talk resolved the issue.

The real issue with regular campgrounds are for the folks that haul a large trailer. Ron Lee at Country Coach related how he hardly ever stayed at campgrounds because they wanted him to disconnect the trailer and leave it in a separate spot.

Other than incident descrribed above, we have never had an issue with talking to folks in a campground, whether they were in a bumper-pull trailer or a Prevost. Just like the folks we met in ETLC, people in campgrounds tend to be good folk. Once we get the coach back from renovation, we will be ambassadors for Prevost when we camp out. But just in case, I always carry my friend Walther with me!

“people dont look at you if your bay door is open with a can sitting just inside the bay door while fueling up..”

Very true. People tend to shy away from me when I lift my shirt and they see Lady Glock. I do find it very effective to maintain my “personal space”. I’m really not anti-social, I just don’t like people.

I vaguely recall someone saying Bar Keeper’s Friend might be helpful for that. Before I’d try it, I would like to have a member of the Forum tell us they used it on their stainless with success.

I am completely aware of how a person’s finances play a big role in what they can buy and how they can buy it. I am not going to begin to suggest a person give up their opportunity to put together a deal to buy a coach, but do want to point out that for the opportunity to put together a deal sometimes the deal that makes things happen is very expensive.

A reality we all have to face is unlike days now gone by the financial markets have changed significantly to the point where without a dealer in the mix to facilitate financing some purchases involving older coaches are not going to get done unless the parties involved are dealing in cash. As buyers and sellers we have to do the best we can given the conditions now affecting all of us.

A fact hitting every one of us is it is the very conditions in the market today that are driving the market value of some exceptional older coaches way down because lenders consider them too old.

Look specifically at the prices of coaches as they reach a certain age.

But what I won’t concede is the cost to buy a coach is only a small part of the cost of ownership and a lot of new potential owners have to face that fact. The cost of the deal is only the starting point with all other expenses very quickly adding to the costs which never stop.
